I do not understand Dan why would Ledecky not just announce Garth is coming back at the press conference? L&M only made it much worse if Garth is coming back by giving the fans false hope. |

Why wouldn't he just fire Garth the day after the season ended. There will be no changes except for me becoming a casual fan. |

It's just dumb how this whole thing has been handled. Would have been bad if Garth was announced coming back at press conference, but it's even worse if possible if after all this time Ledecky is going to announce Garth is returning. |

He's not going to announce anything. They won't say a word. Garth isn't going anywhere and garbage teeth will stop riding the train. |

Ledecky hiding until Belmont is done is not much of a plan. If Garth is returning then Ledecky should have just ripped the Band-Aid off when he had the chance. Going to be much more painful all around now if Garth is back.

He didn't/doesn't want to face the backlash of saying Garth isn't going anywhere. He will say nothing and let it simmer.
The VGN have accomplished more in their inaugural season than the Isles have in over 20 years. |

I wish Ledecky luck because he is going to need it. I cannot believe what Vegas has done. The same team that lost to the Isles twice. |

Take this for the proverbial FWIW, because it’s not what I would term a “report” as much as it is anecdotal — there seems to be a decided uptick in the Lou Lamoriello-to-NYI talk within the NHL community. @DarrenDreger noticed it today in DEN; my sense here in NA is the same. |

Thanks chief! It's the Isles but Lou to the Isles makes a ton of sense. Ledecky wants to shake hands and kiss babies then Lou is the guy that would allow him to do it. |

Completely brainstorming. I doubt it will happen cause I still think he'll get traded to Toronto, but would you trade Lee, Pulock, and both firsts for Doughty and have him signed for a full contract right away like Nashville did with Turris? Kings need offense badly as well as cap relief. Pulock, though probably not norris in his career, has potential to be a top pair D with his bottom potential having him in at least 2nd pair. The 2 firsts could help the Kings' dry prospect pool. The Isles would finally have a solidified top pair in defense. Sacrificing 40 goals for 70+ less goals against would be worth it. |

Wouldn't shock me if he didn't announce anything and just bought the incompetent SOB back without saying a word. Ledecky and Malkin have proved only one thing since they took ownership of the team, they're not men of their word. |

Let's see if what chief posted has any legs. Ledecky brings in Lou and whatever happens with JT he is covered. |

At first glance i agreed with you. However, it’s actually not giving up too much as Doughty is one of the best in the game. I don’t even know if they make that trade. Other than Lee, nothing else is proven to garner that kinda talent. The risk/reward isn’t good for the Kings |

I'd love to get Doughty but that's a heck of a lot to give up and does not leave the Isles much else to trade for a quality goalie and other needs. With Pulock looking to be an answer on D, I'd rather try for someone like Trouba and if Toews is the real deal you really have something. |

So a 40 goal scorer, what looks like a pretty good, young offensive defenseman, and two first round picks. |

Yeah trading away a young, good defenseman for anything even doughty makes zero sense. I'd love to have doughty here but taking two steps forward and three steps back is exactly whats wrong with this team for the last 12 years. Keep whatever promising defense you have and upgrade it without giving any of it up. We have forward depth thats without even saying thats an overpayment for Doughty. |

I agree. Many think Toews is even better than Pulock because of his skating. You try for someone like Trouba and if this team can fix the defensive system it will go a long way as well. |

I would think if something were to be done it would have been done already. I can't imagine what the hell is going on behind the scenes? I would like to believe these owners are trying to get a competent GM under contract, find a coach, and ink Tavares but I think we all know it's nothing. These guys aren't doing a (frank)ing God damn thing and we're fooling ourselves thinking otherwise. There's nothing going on which we'll find out and have proven when old yella crawls out of whatever cave he's hiding in right now. (frank)ing disgrace. - Cptmjl
You see, you can't do anything now because it would upset the draft preparations this close to the Big Day. And you can't do anything after the draft because it would upset the preparations for free agency. And then so many plans are put into motion July 1 that you have to see those through...and then...ah, screw it, I've seen and written about the Cycle of Futility way too many times |
