I think we can all agree what Marchand did was inappropriate, but is it worthy of a suspension? I mean, if you licked a random stranger in front of MSG, you could be arrested for assault...

It's funny/weird......but, like Cally said, it's the same thing as spitting on someone. He should be suspended for a game, no doubt. It's fuuucking ridiculous he would do that

I can’t imagine being licked in the face/ lip area by another dude, let alone an ugly (frank)er like Marchand. Queezyness would ensue rapidly lol now if it’s a handsome guy like Hank, well I might like it I’m not sure haha

Colin Campbells office announced earlier today that they had discussion with Brad Marchand and that he had been warned that supplemental discipline would be imposed should he lick another player again. A memo was circulated warning all remaining playoff teams they will receive 10 min misconducts for licking.

More Larry Brooks Retweeted The Athletic NHL
When Sean Avery, who never in his career had been suspended, told a joke in poor taste following a morning skate, the NHL sent him off to rehab.
More evidence that Brooks reads our thread for material, I made this comment yesterday
Looks like the Staal/Vesey hex is in the postseason air in Nashville in Round 2.
Preds now 1-2 at Home vs. Jets w/8 GF & 14 GA. (At Wpg: 1-1 w/6 GF & 8 GA)
Preds won 2 of 3 Home vs. Avs w/11 GF & 8 GA. (At Colr: 2-1 w/11 GF & 7 GA) with Colorado playing without their #1 goalie in Varlamov for that 6 game 1st Round series.
In their 11 games played in the first two rounds, the pre season Western Conf. champions favorite in the Preds are 6-5, with 36 GF & 37 GA. In addition, the Jets have exposed Pekka Rinne in this series, with him struggling somewhat, & not coming up with enough big saves as expected, like Hellebuyck has made successfully for Winnipeg.
Rinne is now 6-5 in this postseason, with being pulled from two games, and has allowed 33 GA, with a 3.23 GAA, & an also disappointing .898 Save% only.
Barring some late surprise, it appears there will be no new Rangers head coach officially named by their May 7th organizational meetings commencement. The clock is ticking down, with one month already just about having passed, should the choice have been for an already NHL experienced developmental type one, whose team may have let go at season's end. That potentiallist has likely been fulfilled.
I hope the odds are more now in favor for a developmental one possibly past rumored at the minor league or collegiate level, prior to some NHL retread who is available. I would have preferred Jim Montgomery as A.V.'s successor. The wonder I have more so than why Gorton didn't prefer him as first choice, despite being impressed in interviewing him, but not making him an offer, would be if Montgomery was that seriously interested as his first choice, to make the nearly cross country move to coach here at the NHL level.

By all accounts Gorton didn't want to lure Montgomery here because it's widely known that he wanted to stay in Midwest area. Why make a push for a guy whose family needs were more important to him than working in NYC? Guy wasn't interested, so move on to next candidates. Nothing Gorton could do about it

Sean Avery made a sex joke and was suspended for like 18 games.
What Marchand did isn't suspension worthy. But it should be called an unsportsmanlike conduct.

Licking another person IS suspension worthy.....I think next time, Marchand should rub one out then shmear his load all over someones face....Lets see if you think that's suspension worthy
Good flick
No mention of Youngblood by anyone?

If you haven’t read it, Wayne Coffey’s Boys of Winter about the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team is phenomenal. Goes through the US-Russia game play by play and interspices bio information about the whole team. Was written on 25th anniversary of the victory. - airjan23

Very simple... give him a 10 min unsportsmanlike misconduct penalty, I don't understand the problem here, he gets that once he stops. Because the team needs him on the ice.
That's exactly what it is.. unsportsmanlike
