Rick Nash can go piss into the wind. - tomburton99
I have no rational explanation as to why, but when I read this super-quick the first time I read it as "Rick Nash can go piss into the squid" |

No downside to ssigning him. Either he's good and scores goals, or he's bad and the Rangers can continue to "not tank" and rebuild. - tomburton99
plus hes got some nasty in him that EVERYONE here has been looking for |

The only issue in signing him is that it would 35+ contract. Meaning the Rangers would have to pay and keep his cap on the books for every scenario outside of death. |

I am going to have to do some research to find out how to successfully accomplish this. There has to be a Youtube video. |

Rick Nash can go piss into the wind. - tomburton99
I was for resigning Nash and Grabs next year, but unless its at extremely discounted prices, don't want either.
Nash is showing that he is the same player in Boston that he always was, especially after another concussion.
Grabs was like Pouliot, in the sense that AV seemed to be perfect fit for them, but once they left, they went back to the way they always played. |

With all the trades they made, I'm definitely leaning more towards not bringing them back. I still think both are veteran players that can help out a young team considerably.
The Kovi thing just seems so dumb to me. The Rangers aren't going to compete for probably another 2-3 years, but lets sign a vet for 2-3 years who hasn't played a NHL game in 5 years who plays 1 side of the ice.
If the team was cup competitive I would definitely sign him. |

I agree with you that they are probably not going to be really competitive for a couple of years.
And then I see an expansion team that has a shot a good shot of making into the Conference final (and possibly beyond), and I am like what the (frank) is going on.

Gallant should easily get coach of the year. They bought into his system and they are a fun team to watch. Karlsson has thrived like a mofo. Probably the most amazing stat. Goes from a career high of 9 to 43. |

I remember looking at their roster after the expansion draft and thinking, man, that team is going to suck.

they arent rebuilding for 2-3 years
even if its the right thing to do.. its still NYR and they will try and be competitive next year
also like everyone says Kovi can help get the other ruskies over here |

I think that is true. And given the fact that they really restocked, I don't mind that they try to be competitive, so long as they don't get crazy and start trading off assets at the deadline to go for it.

Yup. I figured they were definitely a lottery team. The amazing thing to me was they had their 3rd string goalie in for like a month and they were still winning games. That coaching staff has been phenomenal |

Back at the deadline, when Nash and Grabner were traded, I was all for bring them back this summer. After further thought, I have changed my mind.
I think Grabners success was a product of AVs system and since he is no longer coaching here, he will regress like he did with the Devils.
Now that Nash has had another concussion, he doesn't interest me anymore either. I do think that we need a vet to "lead the kids", just not sure who that will be. Tavares would be PERFECT, unfortunately just don't see him signing here.
New slogan for the summer:
Tavares or bust, in Gorton we trust... |

We will see. I agree the Rangers will try to be competitive as soon as possible, but they better not (frank) it up and be impatient.
As far as the Kovi thing I will agree to disagree with you guys. Don't think its a smart move. If he does get signed though, I will root like hell for him. |
