Or....here me out. We tank for Jack Hughes and Alexis Lafreniere. - tomburton99
You always make that over simplistic. You tank for a very small % shot of drafting either of those guys.

I know. I was more so joknig with that particular comment. I'm 99% certain the Rangers would tank and not draft in the top 3 because that is how the NHL works with and around the Rangers. |

I don't know why NYR fans would hold it against Kovalchuk that he quit on the Devils

Unless you draft Quinn Hughes, and then you give the NHL a potential story if they fix the draft for the Rangers.

Some of you guys sound like Boomer on the radio crying about the "Screw the Rangers button", as if the Rangers are some long-disrespected franchise |

I don't believe the draft lottery was fixed to screw the Rangers.
I just believe the Rangers had a low % shot of winning the draft lottery. |

No, but every once and awhile I see someone complain that the NHL will screw the Rangers over this way or that way, as if the league is out to make life intentionally miserable for one of their most marketable franchises |

Really, any sane commissioner, if he was really trying to fix something in favor of a franchise, would want the best players in the biggest and most marketable city in the league.
Edit: The only one that makes me wonder just a touch is the Crosby lottery. It was very convenient that that franchise got him at that time. |

And after 7 years of missing the playoffs we ended up with the 16th pick and traded down to 12, biggest piece of evidence of the NHL's hatred of the Rangers |
