I think the gist of it is after a team has been mathematically eliminated, the points they gain rank them at the end of the season. So a team that has sucked for longer will have a better chance of gaining more points (having being mathematically eliminated sooner) than a team that gets eliminated with only a few games left. I like it, think it adds a dimension away from tanking and for fans to actually cheer on their team all year long. - NewYorkNuck
I like it too. I think BPL has similar in-season point system to determine placement in FIFA tournaments and such.
I just like saying Loser's Cup. I've heard the term referenced on this site before. I just want to make it a reality. The canucks could finally get some fabric for those rafters. |

I've really come around on the size of his balls. I thought for the last couple years they were totally brutal but when you think about the role he played this year and will play next year he's really only overpaid by less than 1mil. - NorthNuck
I think most of us overlooked that. |

Well I guess all the reported news was just fake news, yes he can play hockey, but he can also alienate fellow teammates.
I am divided on how I feel about Kane, looked good in San Jose, but was an issue in Winnipeg and Buffalo. Has he found the new path, is he reformed or just waiting to fcuk up again at the Roxy...I'm so conflicted - Makita
its been said he has really grown up a lot
but hey, the ROXY has it's effects lol
Maybe JB can put the roxy on payroll to keep him outta there |

We need on the ice Kane, not off the ice Kane. |

Canucks and Coyotes were #1 and #2 for wins post-elimination this year - NorthNuck
OK, so you are making me work because using League standings at end of year is much easier to place teams; worst plays best...
Where do you find those stats or are you just using last 10 games?

Kane's kind of streaky. Always involved (good and bad) but sometimes goes quiet on the goal front. Then he will have a 3-point game.
And I did see a bit of pouty/pissy reaction to things on the ice. I wonder how easy it is to throw him off his game. |

remember he did say he would resign here IF the sedins stayed. So we can imagine his answer now.
perhaps like other players on the team he knew they were retiring already when he said that. But if like last off season he goes without contract long enough possibly he knocks on the door....he'll need an income for all the cocaine and gambling - SMBDragon
He said he would only resign with a No Move clause because he wants stability for his family next year. |

I want nothing to do with that petulant asshat. Someone was suggesting that maybe he has matured yet he was still having issues with Buffalo teammates earlier this year. Also, he always manages to up his game on contract year.
I think he would be an unwanted distraction on a young team. |

For those who say we should acquire a winger:
The Panthers missed the playoffs this year with 248 goals.
Baertschi-Horvat-Boeser 70-80 goals
Eriksson-Sutter-Virtanen 40-50 goals
Granlund-Gaudette-Pettersson 35-45 goals
Leipsic/Archie-Gagner-Goldobin 25-30 goals
Edler-Tanev 8 Goals
Del Zotto-Gudbranson 8 goals
Pouliot-Stecher 6 goals
Total: 192-227 goals
I think it's clear what position we need to upgrade in order to make the team better, the few assets we have need to be spent wisely. - NorthNuck

Scott Wheeler at the Athletic posted his rankings of the top 100 prospects
1 - Dahlin
2 - Svechnikov
3 - Zadina
4 - Hughes
5 - Wahlstrom
6 - Boqvist
7 - Bouchard
8 - Tkachuk
9 - Kotkaniemi
10 - Farabee
Wahlstrom seems to be rising and Tkachuk falling in some of the mock stuff I've seen - WhiteLie
Keyed in on Wahlstrom all season. He has constantly impressed & improved. If he could play C he is a great pick. Kotkaniemi has moved up the most & is a C. Bouchard/Dobson are the usuals who move up since D is harder to judge. He doesn’t have Dobson ranked top 10 btw. Tkachuk has held his own & only fallen due to others stock rising. |
