Carolina would be nuts to move that pick. Svechnikov's numbers this year are on par with a lot of OHL greats drafted over the last decade or so. - Sabresfan-365
For sure. That's why I framed a trade scenario that I think would be rightfully painful to get there. I'm getting crushed from both sides here đđ |

Right?
I could see Montreal moving 3rd overall just because who their GM is
I don't see a way Carolina moves it especially for a team that needs scoring - Stripes77
i would love z also |

Svechnikov is going to put up Laine type numbers. Fantastic talent. Beast in both ends of the rink. Carolina is getting a good one. |

If he wasn't a winger and we weren't so deprived defensively I think he'd seriously contend for #1 overall.

We are not getting another top 10 pick, and forget top 4 never going to happen. This whole conversation is dumb.... everyone female doged when gmtm traded away all of those picks and yet weâre going to be dumb enough to do it again????, come on man!
itâs not happening... there might be one major trade.... maybe.
Canât wait for the draft so this insanity ends... (it wonât really end ). |

I think with the Teams needing a center we can land a top 10 pick

Youâre absolutely correct, but I see many of your Bretheren penciling him in on the top pair already. Those vets were obviously the wrong guys for Myers and Risto...is there nobody better in free agency?
Agreed most of the D are too old to commit to your standard poopty free agent contract, But Tobias Estrom might be a good gamble ( injured too much tho). Probably the best bet is a 30-33 yr old #4 with 2 years left on a deal that can be had for cheap. - Larsson_fan
If they were smart they'd put him on the 3rd pair with a few shifts with Risto on the first. And the 2PP. But given the state of the defense I'm not sure they'll be able to resist the urge to throw him in the deep end right away. |

He is good enough that 5 years down the line we might be debating on whether or not we should have took him or not. |

In no way am I saying we should.
The way I look at it, we don't need to trade ROR any more than they need to trade #2.
I think it would take a ton to get into the top-3. It just doesn't happen very often - jcragcrumple
I mean Brian Burke managed to get the 4th for Brian McCabe and a first, then the 1st OA for the 4th OA and 2 3rds, then 2nd OA and other stuff for the 1st OA to select the Sedins, so anything's possible. |

Did they seriously make a twitter for their dog, and then call out reporters? That's awesome. |

True, but since then it's been rare. Those moves gave the slack-tied wonder another 15 years in the league. After that, he got all focused on trucculence. |

The Sabres would be wise to keep the roster the same and to expect massive transformation.
Trade ROR - nope
trade Reino - nope
trade Risto - nope
Antipin sucked, get rid of him
Trade McCabe - nope
They should trade Larsson for Pacioretty

He needed Rochester. He showed some good things, he just needed a lot of playing time, which he didn't get, neither should he have gotten, here. |

And the league is totally different, I mean 1OA for 4OA and 2 3rds? WTF?! Even Bryan McCabe(who was pretty good) and a future 1st for 4OA is pretty crazy. |

this may the advantage with pilut. Antipin is 25, Pilut is 22 and a late birthday. A year in Roch and he'll still be a young d-man with ample time to for him to establish his nhl game and make the big bucks (relative to sweden). |
