I don't think Antipin was as bad as some on here make him out to be. I am sure some games in Rochester would have benefitted him, But I think he had an out in his contract if he was sent down. What would have been nice is if he played a steady amount of games in a row and about 12-14 minutes a game and we might have seen some growth. Instead it was in and out of the lineup, never really getting a chance to adapt to the North American style of game. I think the powers that be should have known better, they are the ones who said to focus on development. I think they screwed the pooch on that one. |

I liked him, I don't like the way the team treated him. He could have been a great 2nd pairing guy for the next few years. |

He was one of the few D that actually had his head up looking to make a play. |

The entire team was a joke, just a bunch of guys doing their own thing and expecting it to work. I can't believe people have the audacity to say this season was an intentional tank.
Unless they were all told to go out there and make fools out of themselves, which, a professional getting paid wouldn't. |

It probably didnt benefit him to demand to only play in the NHL. Even a half season in Rochester might have helped him understand the North American game. But, those were his demands and now he's done......missing a few teeth. |

On another note. Any thoughts about Kim Pegula being president of hockey? why wouldn't they get a hockey person instead of an air head? (hockey knowledge wise). Knowledgeable owners know how to pick the right people to manage things. |

this may the advantage with pilut. Antipin is 25, Pilut is 22 and a late birthday. A year in Roch and he'll still be a young d-man with ample time to for him to establish his nhl game and make the big bucks (relative to sweden). - Sabresfan-365
I still think they were a bit hasty with Antipin. Maybe he was just too hard headed, even after this year. He's still waiver exempt, so he could've been sent down and played big minutes every game. |

IIRC, he was a "NHL or KHL" guy . I don't know if Pilut is but generally speaking the SHL guys are more inclined to do their AHL time, like Rosen did with the leafs. He was one of the top guys available last year. |

Because the job has nothing to do with hockey. It's not as if she's head scout. Not every job in the front office requires an intimate knowledge of hockey and its inner workings. |

Yeah, allegedly he said he didn't want to go to the AHL, but I'm saying after the year in which he struggled mightily at times he'd see the benefit of AHL time and then continue his NHL career. I believe he's an everyday NHL player, he just needs time to develop.
But the way he did it I'd be surprised if he gets another shot. And maybe he's ok with that. It's just a shame, because he's got good instincts. You can tell that even on TV. |

Question...
Could the Sabres organization (Management) tank the roster, such that said roster played as good as their collective talent would allow ...but still suck enough so that the Tank expectations by Managemt are fulfilled? I.e.e the players play their game, but mgmt knows they wont win?
Apparently the consensus here is No...most think the players are in on the tank by playing poorly/unde4 their collective capabilities |

The Sabres will be the absolute nicest team in the NHL.
The uni’s will look great and match the KBC colors ... it will be so coordinated.

Look at Tampa Bay with Yzerman. Look what Shanahan has done with Toronto. Very concerned about right decisions being made in order to turn this around. |

I read it.
Why assume she is an air head in regards to hockey?
She has owned an nhl team for 7 years. I'm sure she knows more than most.
