To be fair, you're probably more afraid of red meat and gluten than I am of snakes

How are you afraid of a snake?
- gerbe75pts

It's natural to be afraid of snakes and spiders. It's an evolutionary thing. Getting bitten by a venomous animal isn't fun.

What happens when "a little spider" bites you:

warning, very graphic.

I really do not get it either. Ror is a good hockey player.
He maybe a bit overpaid, but it's buffatax.

I cant believe lehner pretty much gets a free pass.
He is completely useless, overpaid and way more of the reason we finished last.

Lehner has no value

Just as long as you know what kind it was that bit you.
- Wetbandit1

Based on what the prof said, the doctor could treat even without knowing the type of snake. But I'm not a doctor or a herpetologist (neither was the prof), so I have no idea if he was right.

They probably have antivenin on hand for snakes endemic to the area, but because different snakes have different venoms they can't combine them all together. I was watching a show on Animal Planet or Nation Geographic or something and a lady had a bunch of exotic, highly venomous reptiles in her house and something bit her and she had no idea which one it was because they were just kind of hanging out in her apartment so they couldn't treat her until they wrangled them all.

Yeah, it's not all sunshine and rainbows, even "little spiders" can do serious damage. A healthy adult probably won't die from most things in NA, provided you get medical attention fairly quickly, but that doesn't mean you won't lose a hand/foot/leg, or have serious damage like the guy in that picture. If you don't literally step on a snake or you don't corner it it'll leave you alone, it doesn't want to bite you, it takes time to replenish the venom, time that something else will come along and kill it, or a meal. Just like a skunk won't spray until it gets to a last resort and has no other choice.

Scarlet King Snake and Coral Snake look almost identical to the layman. Heard if you get bit by a red, yellow and black snake, you got to kill it and bring it with you. I hope I never know what it's like to get bit by a snake. Probably not good, but killed as many garter and water snakes as I could growing up in the sticks. I hate them too.

There's your answer.

The "haters" do think ROR has value. They want to move him now while its high because they believe you can get a return that will make the Sabres a better team going forward. It seems that most of the people who don't want to trade ROR feel that way because they don't think trading him will make the Sabres better. But, most "haters" don't want to trade ROR if it won't improve the team, and most "non-haters" are open to trading ROR for a good return.

In other words, everyone actually agrees with each other.

That definitely makes sense.

I saw a documentary about a similar situation where doctors needed to know what types of snakes were involved in this crazy incident on an airplane so they could have the right treatments available for the passengers.

Red on yella, will kill a fella. That's how you remember a Coral snake.

Edit: Late.

I would imagine the actual bite wouldn't feel like much, sharp fangs are like needles. After the fact is when the pain would come.

Too close. Not worth the risk the coaches didn't see anything to try and go for the challenge.

I’ve heard/seen some interesting opinions on the Draft for the Sabres this summer...with the chance (some people think it’s more likely than others do) of Dahlin not wanting to play in Buffalo, would they consider going with Svechnikov or Zadina? I’m not sure they would deal the pick, unless of course it was for a legit first line center - not sure where they would find that anyway.

All that said, lookin like an interesting summer/draft. Curious to see how this Dahlin vs Buffalo thing plays out.
