If Montreal and Carolina are serious about acquiring a center, and willing to move their pick, like it has been reported; I do not see how matches up better as a trade partner than us. |

because we have nothing worth giving up the 2nd overall pick? Think about what that would take, not like we're the only team with centre depth either |

People really undervalue ROR here. Outside of Tampa, Washington, Pittsburgh, Toronto, and maybe Boston, I cant name teams with a better 1-2 center combination than Buffalo. And none of those teams have their centers on the block.
Since acquiring O'Reilly in 2015, he is 28th in scoring. A package of O'Reilly, Nylander, along with some other small piece, might be enough to snag the pick. |

It was kinda funny
Didn’t u give me all kinds of crap for saying Mittelstadt might not produce like Barzal right away...
and then u go & predict under 50pts for him? - jdfitz77
Pretty sure fitz, you thought mitts would stay another year in college or start in rochester. 5 points in the final 6 games for Casey makes you wrong.
At no point did you predict a 50 point rookie season

Only think good about the interview
Dahlin - I think Victor Olofsson has the best shot I've ever seen, it's amazing. Playing with him in Buffalo would be so much fun. #Sabres

Kopitar-Carter?
McDavid-Draisaitl?
I think you're underestimating Svechnikov's value here. He's putting up some of the best scoring numbers by a draft eligible player in the last 20 years. ROR and Bustlander doesn't scratch the surface

I would take Eichel and O'Reilly over Kopitar and Carter. Does Draisaitl play center? I thought they were using him on the wing, if not, add Edmonton. But still, that is not many teams, and none of those centers are available.
Carolina has many young talented wingers and almost nothing down the middle. They really cant trade back and pick a center since the top 10 is filled with Dman and wingers.
Say what you want, but I really feel like it is going to happen. |

Something like:
Reinhart to the isles for 11, then ROR, 11 and Nylander for 3. I don't think 2 is gonna be possible.
I'll put my usual disclaimer up: not saying it's a good idea. But any thought of moving that high up is gonna hurt a ton |

I think given Carolina's young fast wingers, RoR would do very well there.
I think it would be a real hockey trade that benefits both sides |

none of them are on the level of Svechnikov. A lesser winger and I might be inclined to agree. But they're a cheap team in dire need of offense, they're getting a guy who could score 40 goals as early as year 2 of his ELC. The odds of anyone beating that are virtually 0.
If he wasn't a winger and the Sabres weren't desperate for d-men, he'd be a real contender for first overall. |

Three I could definitely see. But Svechnikov is the real deal and a probable #1 pick in a lot of other drafts. Ain't no deal on our end that's gunna cut it. |

Looking at the draft thread for the Canadians they sound like us they want Quinn Hughes 3rd overall so
Maybe Ristolainen ?
Then trade Sam, nylander for Hanifin
Then trade ROR ,gus to the blues for jaden Schwartz , barbashev
New players
Hanifin
Weber
Filip Zadina
jaden Schwartz

We were last place. Last place.
Not like 27th, not 23rd, thirty freaking first.
With O’Reilly playing all the “big minutes”.
God I can’t wait until this team is good |

Colorado went 22-56-4 in the 2016-17 season. They had MacKinnon and Landy. Are they bad players?
Being last place actually means zip in terms of how good a player is. HOFers have played for last placed teams.
I'm not going to go further than to say I can't wait until they are good too. |
