You can't be serious. The talent disparity is not even close. Not. Even. Close.
- TheSabresTaco

Im not saying he would be, just that it would be close. To say it wouldn't be ignores the fact that Svechnikov is having a season that rivals mcdavid's. That's just insulting

Edit: My dude he was nearly a goal per game player

What's insulting is insinuating the talent and position of Dahlin is remotely close to Svechnikov. It's not. It's not even close, and Dahlin is BPA by a mile, something Botts has repeatedly announced he would always take.

If Svechnikov had McDavid talent, then he'd actually be first OA by every scouting service out there. However, this is not the case.

Why isn't it? I never said Dahlin isn't BPA, because he absolutely is. But it is close, not in the sense that Botts has a tough decision to make, but close in the sense that the team acquiring him is getting a guy would go first or challenge for first in a lot of drafts.

Hence ROR+Nylander+small pieces wouldn't be nearly enough. That was the original point.

Edit: He scored goals at a similar pace to mcdavid. can't ignore that

So did Daigle. It means something, but it doesn't mean everything. You above almost all else should know that.

He's a good player. He'll probably be a great player. I don't even know why people are talking about trading for the pick, it's never going to happen.

Only think good about the interview

Dahlin - I think Victor Olofsson has the best shot I've ever seen, it's amazing. Playing with him in Buffalo would be so much fun. #Sabres

Is Svech consensus #2 yet or is there some disagreement? I'm not a fan of Z's lack of elite speed. Not sure he needs it, but it leaves a bad taste after watching this dumpster fire trudge around the ice like they all poop themselves

I recognize in the grand scheme of things it doesn't mean as much as it does now but the implied potential is more what i was getting at. There's no scenario where Carolina gives up the chance to draft a guy whose 5v5 goal numbers are better than Hall and Kane for a 2nd line centre and marcel hossa 2.0.

That I agree with. As long as Dahlin is left out of that particular discussion, I agree with all of it.

Nylander will be a ton better next year. Calling my shot.

He didn't start sucking. Injuries crushed him. When he was on the ice, he was always an ace.

To your other question though, i'd take that chance on Zadina. Im just not sure there's a price that doesn't hurt the team long term.

You probably have to draw it up the way jcrag did, end up indirectly moving two roster players for one. Not necessarily the right move at this point.

He has the same speed as laine I don’t think it’s a problem you don’t really see a winger that’s a elite sniper and a good 2 way forward in the game today

Svech Is Ov jr can score from anywhere and is a physical beast he should go number 2

I’m hoping we can get Z or maybe tk if we land a pick at 5

Injuries killed his career

Had he been healthy his entire career he would probably be considered the best by the majority of people.

For sure I wouldn't. We can't see Bott's grand plan, we don't know the market, we don't know what trades are around, but I have a feeling that any moves made will be done for both short and long term success. Any huge payment for a top pick will use players not a part of this future. I know that sounds obvious, but the alternative is Murray style, use whatever it takes to get a guy.

No, but I bet he outscores Karlsson on the regular. The game was slower back then. If you take 60's/70's Bobby Orr in today's NHL, he's probably a 50-60 point guy regularly.

If you take Bobby Orr's talent and infuse it in today's athlete, he's like an 80-90 point guy.

Some of the questions were dumb, but they wanted to lighten the mood, considering all of the interviews he had/has to do and they'll all ask him the same questions over and over. They could have done better, but I get it.

Told that Brady Tkachuk will return to BU for his sophomore season. The Terriers were going after a grad transfer who was told the offer was no longer available due to Tkachuk returning.

Odds are high the #Oilers deal their 10th overall draft pick this June because whatever teenage defenceman is available at that spot is probably 2-3 years away from playing in the #NHL

Not like 27th, not 23rd, thirty freaking first.

With O’Reilly playing all the “big minutes”.

God I can’t wait until this team is good
