you'd have to know that you could find his replacement this off season though. Normally not an immediate issue, but this team can't afford to be bad again next year. - Sabresfan-365

Grigorenko is just that. A guy who can play in any league in the world, except the NHL - TheSabresTaco
Or maybe he will come back better like Radulov and Dadonov

But they are awful with him in that role. What are we replacing that's leading to wins?
It's not like Eichel where you can see the entire offense goes through him. All they need to replace is a defensive 3/4 C and let Mittelstadt/Rodrigues handle his O zone starts.

It be better to get rid of him now then have him mope around because he doesn’t have the C on his chest and we can’t risk teams seeing that and decreasing his value Imo |

"He is the complete package when it comes to winning faceoffs. He's strong in his torso, his arms, thick hands and wrists. He has a low center of gravity and lowers further for faceoffs, bringing his powerful legs into play, helping him maintain position when bodies collide after the drop. He's also very fast with his stick due to great hand-eye coordination. And, he knows a million tricks."
This quote isn't about O'Reilly, but it very well could be. I am a big ROR supporter and do not want him to be traded, but I could see the Canes going after him. The quote above was speaking about Rod Brind'Amour and with him becoming the Canes' new head coach I could see him wanting a center like ROR. Of course I don't see picks 2 or 3 being moved at all this year and I don't know how a fair package could be worked out that both teams would agree to. Maybe something like ROR and McCabe or Guhle for Lindholm and Dahlbeck? |

Waste of assets.
Also, please, no positive chatting about ROR. |

The best teams in the league (outside Vegas, so far) have drafted well beyond round 1 pick 1.
Top overall more times than not gets you a franchise talent (not necessarily generational).. but building a team around that guy is as or maybe more important than that franchise cornerstone.
It's evident everywhere. Washington. Boston. Tampa. Nashville. Penguins. Jets. San Jose.
They all have a franchise players, and they all have depth round NHL talent. |

I was just Kidding that’s why half of us were pissed that TM Was giving away Picks like candy..
Teams are built threw the draft that’s why we need to get picks and build this thing into a masterpiece

Old vets why Did Bobby Orr Start Sucking at age 27? - gerbe75pts
Bobby Orr was amazing to watch live. Had The pleasure a few times . Even went to His Hockey camp as a kid in Parry Sound that he and Mike Walton owned . Bobby was only there First day and Picture day . His knees just gave out . With Today s knee surgeries he would have played a lot longer and dominated the whole time. Surgery in his era was meatball surgery. Players never fully recovered.
If he were dropped into this era of the NHL he would still dominate without a doubt. His end to end rushes were a thing of beauty.
