Let's say my business has 100k to spend on payroll

Is it smarter to pay one guy 90k and one guy 10k,

Or pay one guy 45k, one guy 30k, and intern 15k, and have 10k in savings to either reinvest or devote to raises if you need it.

My point is, asset management and team building is more than one guy. You need to fill out your staff with useful pieces, or else your investment of 90k with one guy will fail, because he won't have the support

My friend worked at EA and this is essentially what they did. Once you were done your project you were let go and whole new crop of people came in.


Problem is, these people aren't stupid. When your turnover rate is that high, no recent graduate wants anything to do with you.

I have zero problem moving almost anyone on this team. Honestly. I'm not staunchly defending his presence on his team. But to just go out and trade him for pick(s) is foolish unless you are absolutely sure you're getting a replacement between immediately and a year away.

btw that Dougie Hamilton rumor is for the purpose of Calgary jumping into the first round. I don't really understand why they would trade a guy like that for a 10+ pick, but what do I know.

Likely means the Sabres are way out on that rumor, unless they'd take players instead.

Who said about spending a huge chunk of money on one guy ? All I'm saying if I can get a worker that has the same price tag but is an upgrade I'm going to replace him

It's pretty well known by now he's not your typical "hockey guy". dude was straight A's book worm introvert, not always a pleasant mix in the room, but I hardly think he's the reason for Calgary's troubles.

Did some Pilut research last night and really liked what I read/saw. Made me certain one of our defenders moves this summer.

Scandella, Dahlin, Risto, Guhle, Bogo, Bowl-U, Nelson, McCabe, Pilut. 9 cooks and only 7 allowed in the kitchen. Even if Pilut is in the minors to start, he's either accompanied by Guhle/Nelson or a trade is imminent.

Bogo can't go. Dahlin, Risto and Guhle probably won't. Beau has no value. Scandella or McCabe is a goner.
