So is a late 2nd basically a 3rd? Mind blowing waiting for an answer o mighty one..
- SDSabre

No it's a 2nd ...

Just like when The bills got Taylor for 3rd and everyone said it's basically a second

But hey when I say something it's wrong and its not logical

Got it

Who said about spending a huge chunk of money on one guy ? All I'm saying if I can get a worker that has the same price tag but is an upgrade I'm going to replace him

There are free agents that are more of an upgrade then he is

- gerbe75pts

Free agents are expensive.

If you want carlsson, Risto and Scandella are priced out. Now you have to throw a Borgen type into the Sabres defense mix before he's ready, because he's all you can afford. Free agents and superstars cost money.

It's pretty well known by now he's not your typical "hockey guy". dude was straight A's book worm introvert, not always a pleasant mix in the room, but I hardly think he's the reason for Calgary's troubles.

sure he may be a little boring, but that's hardly the same as being a locker room cancer.

- Sabresfan-365

So he's basically" that guy " who makes a joke and everyone looks the other way lol

I want de Haan I think he's extremely underrated and should be one of the top free agents but he's not going to be which that's good for us

Did some Pilut research last night and really liked what I read/saw. Made me certain one of our defenders moves this summer.

Scandella, Dahlin, Risto, Guhle, Bogo, Bowl-U, Nelson, McCabe, Pilut. 9 cooks and only 7 allowed in the kitchen. Even if Pilut is in the minors to start, he's either accompanied by Guhle/Nelson or a trade is imminent.

Bogo can't go. Dahlin, Risto and Guhle probably won't. Beau has no value. Scandella or McCabe is a goner.

Yeah i don't think Botts ever saw him as a long term solution, just a stop gap. If they didn't land Pilut or Dahlin that would be one thing.

Not really saying your wrong all the time, just when you have 3 posts about a pick in the 3rd round being a 2nd. No, it's a 3rd rounder. And I'm not a Bills guy, missed the Taylor for a 3rd basically a 2nd convo. Would have said the same thing, no, it's a third. I mean, you can even get more technical and say and early, mid, late, or even further and get down to the brass tax of actual pick number. Just don't say that a third is basically a 2nd, because it is in fact, not. just like pick 3 is not basically pick 1. It is not. That is all.

Lottery win changed things for the better methinks. Glad you agree on Pilut, it seems you're very good at understanding over seas production vs NHL potential. Exciting.

Time to go to the archives on the Taylor trade and see how many people say a second round pick ...

I know I was one

Why do people get hung up on this as if the history of a specific spot matters?

You can (most likely won't) find excellent players in the 3rd round.

You also shouldn't get hung up on losing a 3rd for an NHL'er (if he actually contributes)

There, debate over with

Because he said the first pick is "a second round pick"

Based on past history of that spot, it may as well be a 7th round pick.

Yes, the first pick of the third round traditionally occurs in the third round
