Oh no. Here come the wacky, one sided trade proposals.
ROR is unwanted by many because he does not put up numbers to justify his bloated contract. 5 x 7.5m still owed. That’s a lot of money to pay your third line center. Not sure if an NHL GM will trade young assets for the right to assume that anchor of a contract

- BernardShakey

He a solid second line centre, could play top line on some teams, hes one of the best faceoff men in the league, is good at both ends of the ice, plays PP and PK and just put up 61 points on a last place team.
He does not play 3 line centre, and I doubt a team acquiring him wants him in that role either, that is partially why hes come up in trade rumors as we have Middlestat and Eichel as our future top two centres.
I hardly think his contract is an anchor, hes young and still highly productive.

This year is the first year in a while he had better numbers than Lehner

Him and his 34 starts got them in the playoffs?

- Stripes77

I’m not saying he is a number 1 but a backup that can play when we need him .

No other options really in UFA

I don’t want to waste a pick on a goalie when we drafted one last year in the 2nd and we have Ullmark ready for the number 1 soon

Cant think of any 3rd line centers that put up 60 pts. Come to think of it, not many 2nd line centers do these days...

I mean if you can get him for $2-3 million fine but he is who he is at this point, I am not sold on Ullmark being a number 1. I would like a guy to push him. I don't think Bernier is that guy

If anything it makes GM's be smarter for the Seattle expansion draft

P!ssed off players that their teams didn't want plus a good coach and great goaltending makes them a dangerous team

Bad. It looks like all you have to do is pay $500m for a cup.

What's dumb?

Most teams got robbed of a decent player. Look at the Thrashers opening lineup and you can see the difference.

If Vegas wins the cup it will be talked all the way through and even beyond the Seattle expansion ad nauseum.

Maybe Ben just thinks the dude threw to the most wide open receivers in the history of College Football and sucks. I don't blame him.

I see where you and Stripes are coming from though. You both have a way of coming across as over sensitive. Must've got a lot of participation ribbons growing up.

Disagree. Teams were put in a hard spot because Vegas was going to be able to poach basically all players it wanted that other teams took time to draft and develop.

If Vegas wins a cup year 1 its a bad look for the NHL.

They really need to redo the expansion draft rules.

You clearly missed the point

He credited someone (Tommy Maddox) for helping him become the player he is today, a future HOFer.

Yet when it comes time to help the guy who could be the next guy since you know Big Ben can't seem to figure out how long he wants to play for and keeps his team in the dark but gets upset when they try to come up with a successor plan he turns into a huge A-Hole.

As far as the participation trophy comments are concerned I am and have been anti participation trophy, I am a parent of 2 children one of which is old enough to learn that they win some they lose some in life. How you handle losing defines you more than being a winner. So F off with that comment, you don't know anything about me and my personal views because I like to keep them off of these boards.

Do yourself a favor next time, the next time you want to characterize someone's personal beliefs on this site you're better off letting it go.

Half the team is players tossed aside that the team didn’t want

It shows maybe players that were tossed away at a younger age all they needed was more playing time and maybe they would’ve been something

I think With Vegas Success teams are going to think twice about throwing away players now

I just don't see how any of those players were "tossed aside". Each team was losing a player, I'm sure a number of teams would have loved to keep who they lost. It isn't as though they were simply cast outs. Most of the teams who lost better players were forced into it by NTCs or cap issues.

I remember thinking, "How many top4 defenders will Vegas get"...the answer was more than most organizations had themselves. Atlanta's best player was a 34 year old Ray Ferraro if I remember correctly.

Yes, some got exposed when there were other players that perhaps could have been, but other than a few situations, most of these guys were just the best options for what Vegas had to pick from.

You're forgetting the part where teams like Columbus and Florida gave up a lot of assets to Vegas to take those players

With those assets Vegas was able to trade for Tatar for one and still have a cupboard full of draft picks.

Teams were careless in that regard.
