even when you fail despite trying to win, eventually you'll get better. I'm sure Benning and Linden will say this was their plan to build through the draft with high picks, which we all know is a crock of poop, but whatever, better is better! |

We'll see. This off season & next season are big but they are very capable of f*cking everything up. They are such idiots. |

Just looking at Winnipeg and Nashville's defense and how they came together, for interests sake.
Winnipeg...
Byfuglien - Atlanta traded a 1st & 2nd round pick for him.
Tyler Myers - Jets traded Kane 4th OA for Myers 12th OA.
Trouba - Jets drafted him 9th overall.
Morriessey - Jets drafted him 13th OA.
Chiarot - Thrashers/Jets drafted him 4th round.
Kulikov - Jets signed as a UFA
Nashville...
Josi - Preds drafted him 2nd round.
Subban - Preds traded Shea Weber for him.
Ekholm - Preds drafted him 4th round.
Ellis - Preds drafted 11th overall.
Irwin - Signed as a UFA.
Emelin - Preds acquired for a 3rd round pick from Vegas. |

There's some nice kids there but only Pettersson stands out as special, the next highest on the ladder would probably be Demko and Juolevi, both are good higher-end prospects IMO but by no means are they shoe-ins for NHL All-Stars.
Next would be Dhalen I guess, he's largely an unknow on this side of the pond IMO, I don't know what to make of him?
Then comes Lind, Gaudette, Lockwood, Jasek, Brisebois and Gadjovich, and to be honest, every team has these kinds of kids in their system.
A long way to go yet I'm thinking, with only Horvat, Boeser and Virtanen on the team??? |

So, all in all nothing to get terribly excited about. |

I wouldn't be breaking out the pom poms just yet, no. Better than four years ago, although they should be, probably the worst team over the past three years. |

Vancouver native and ufa Evander Kane on July 1st - "There are three priorities that you look for as a player: money, chance to win and lifestyle. “Those are the three priorities and it just depends on how you rank them.” |

Can get pretty excited about Pettersson, Gaudette, Demko and for me Lind is right up there. Dahlen, DiPietro, and OJ kind of bringing up the back. I would say the first four I mentioned are a little higher than most teams 'standard' prospects. just ask Craig Button... |

DiPietro was goalie of the year in the OHL and named to the world championship team. At 18 he couldn't really be doing much better imo. Also would you not put Gadjovich in the same group as Dahlen? |
