I don't know Lefty...over 18,000 fans per game is impressive given they have been brutal lately. - CanuckDon
A lot of empty seats and they're now selling upper bowl seats for 20 bucks, those numbers are fluff. |

I attend the majority of the games and xmas on the stadium was actually full and pretty electric. Building certainly seems more lively than past years. Perhaps its due to Boeser and the Sedin's final season - CanuckDon
Every night that they do happy hour deals pre-game seem to get excitable crowds. More booze=louder fans and the team seems to feed off of it. Should take a page out of Vegas' book and make the games more of a party atmosphere |

Go by percentage and you have Ottawa at 27th and Van at 23. Cgy 19, Edmonton 18th. - manvanfan
true, but 95.6% is pretty good for one of the worst teams. How is CHI at 110%? |

That was true early in the season...but the second half of the season it changed. No more $20 tickets and mostly full. |

That's probably 3000 tickets given away to radio stations and free tickets to minor league teams. - manvanfan
For sure. Those attendance figures are so skewed so Bettman can keep those clubs in failed markets so he doesn't look like the complete idiot that he is.
Every single year the bottom 5 teams in attendance don't change but yet Bettman threatens to move Calgary (under threat of new Arena deal) which basically sells out every single home game |

They sell standing room tickets that increase capacity by a couple thousand.

Capacity Concerts: 23,500
Basketball: 20,917
with standing room at least 23,129
Hockey: 19,717
with standing room at least 22,428 |

Intense! Impressive that CHI still draws so well given the team is in a spiral. |

Yeah even when those teams have good seasons the numbers don't increase much. It takes years of playoff success to really bring fans in. |

Not when I went, I'm not blind, there were a lot of empty seats other than when the twins announced their retirement. |

.@botchford: I certainly think the front office, ownership...there would be a discussion about (Evander Kane). There would probably be splits of opinion on if he could help. I'd be more surprised if Evander...wants to come to Vancouver.
More @botchford on Evander Kane: That said, if I were the #canucks, I would say "look, we are going to get better. We've got Pettersson coming, and we can put you on a line with Brock Boeser"

Article is a couple of days old but I thought I'd share since it really surprised me to see that Stecher had better PK numbers than Tanev this year Hope based on these numbers than Green uses him more on the PP next year |

1) Winning
2) Money
3) Lifestyle

I would say several teams are the similar throughout the NHL and the Canucks are not unique to mismanagement by any one particular group of executives.
As I stated earlier you are a Cauncks fan and scrutinize them more closely than Toronto Arizona Florida, Carolina and on and on. - Makita
True, but I don't give a poop about Toronto, Arizona, Florida, or Carolina. Pure disinterest.
Mismanagement is not unique to the Canucks, but the length of time it's been going on is unique to the NHL.
I care about how my team is managed. I invest a lot of time, energy, and money on this product. I don't blame the players. I do believe the majority go out every night and give their best. But management (frank)ups seem avoidable and to me that's irritating as (frank).

Tanev needs to change the way he plays. Less safe.

I think the Canucks were relatively well managed in the Quinn and Burke years, beyond that you've gotta reach to find any competence in their 48 years. - LeftCoaster
True, Quinn and Burke could be considered adequately managed years but even then how did it all turn out. poop Show. That is how every situation ends for the canucks. |

Canadian fans showing up regardless is another myth. Crowds in Vancouver aren't great right now, if you went to a game this year? They're trying to come up with ways to engage fans right here in our market.
Ottawa, same thing, Edmonton fans are fed up, Calgary less than 100% capacity, it's a myth. Only in Montreal and Toronto do they blindly show up. - LeftCoaster
I got an idea, how about reducing the ticket price by a little bit. |

We'll see. This off season is one of the more important one's in recent memory. Lots of room & time to royally f*ck things up. I don't trust this management group and the coach is smug and condescending. - Marwood
I think this off season's more important for TL and JB's job security then it is to the development of the canucks into a contender. Even if management works wonders I think we are still years away from truly competing.
For me this year's playoffs really made it obvious. |

If Florida was averaging 12,000 then Vancouver definitely averaged 18,000. |
