yeah skunk had crap
doomed to fail in that situation
they should have given him kane and pommer
put 2 kids with jack
pouliot and okposo with ror - homiedclown
You're quick to blame Sam's other linemates, but not much credit for ROR elevating Reinhart's game. That was his linemate for much of the second half. I know you have a narrative to build here, but some of the credit belongs to the lapsed catholic |

Rinne playing sh!tty every other game didn’t help
He really let his team down imo |

yeah I saw that
looking at using frontier from orlando in a few weeks, dirt cheap - homiedclown
It's interesting what Frontier is doing here.
Southwest has dominated the market with 8 nonstop destinations out of Buffalo for nearly a decade.
Jacksonville will make 8 nonstop destinations out of Buffalo in less than a year.

That Stastny trade got some heat
Doesn't look so bad now.
Winnipeg vs. Vegas should be good.
I would like to see Tampa eliminated so a new team can win the cup, that's all I can hope for at this point. |

Have u actually heard ROR is THE problem in the locker room?
I don’t put much stock in the rumors out there...
but i also don’t have the inside info like u - jdfitz77
I have heard they expected pommer, okposo and ror to be leaders in that locker room
the locker room is a big issue with this team
tuning out the coach, sound familiar?
you have kids like eichel and reinhart that are not getting any guidance other than watching older players go through the motions, on the ice and in the locker room
kane showed more emotion in the locker room than ror, okposo or risto FWIW at the start of the season |

Craig Button said something on WGR about JB seeming to do the same thing he did in his first year as GM: take some time to evaluate, then start moving the guys who don't compete hard enough. Every time I hear something like that, Sam's name is the first on my mind. I've always liked Sam, but I still have my doubts on him. In the playoffs, when the PP chances dry up, is he going to produce?
I don't see anyone saying to lock him up for 8 years @ 6m, so I don't think I'm alone in my doubts. I'm not pushing to trade him, but if JB does, I find it an easy move to understand. |

I am not talking about the 7.5 million dollar man
I am talking about a 22 year old that put up 37 points in the last 37 games and tied for the team lead in goals |

Pominville was never a proper leader.
He's the most bland, predictable person ever. "The other team wanted it more"
"We didn't get the job done"
"We have to be better"
ROR, the same.
Okposo, I'll give a pass, he's had serious health issues.
But we desperately needed a Stastny, Spezza, Jagr-type in this locker room. A Tavares would be nice but we need a true leader.
Doughty would be great, I think. |

You were last page. For a while.
And you were talking about how bad Reinhart's linemates were to start the year. No mention of the fact that his uptick in points roughly coincided with his placement on ROR's wing.

Ok...
but none of that sounds to me like
“O’Reilly has been a problem”
Some guys just aren’t all that vocal or
loud & emotional
Seems like all the weight ROR has been carrying certainly got to him at times though

he is paid to be the solution though
just because one does not view him as a problem, does not mean a new gm doesn't view him as a key piece in an up tempo north/south game

ROR is a perennial 60-point player.
He makes no one better.
No one can make him better.
He is what he is: Lady Byng.
Soft, skilled and quite simply, not an impact player. His teams have made the playoff ONE time and in spite of him.
The way this fanbase slobs ROR's knob but ripped Derek Roy to shreds goes to show that we don't deserve nice things. |

That’s all fair
But on the other hand...
just bc Sam doesn’t “push the needle” doesn’t mean he can’t be an effective player in the playoffs
I know ppl make fun of his HockeyIQ often,
but making the “smart” play is important
Especially in the playoffs
Even if it doesn’t directly show up on the scoresheet |

no, my eyes showed ror benefited from reinhart more than reinhart benefited from ror
these 2 are not linked no matter how much you ror lovers want to link it
if casey starts the fall as a center, ror's days are numbered as a sabre
if casey starts the fall on jack's wing, there will be a chance for ror to be a part of the break out |
