As far as playoffs? Sure they are, but he's not exactly some superstar that's going to carry a team. He's a fast 3rd liner that can play up with some PP time on a good team. He's a fast Jamie McGinn, except McGinn already had a 20 goal season by 23.

As you said, he's not exactly some star, someone not in the division will offer something similar to what we do so now as the division rival you're stuck paying more for someone you shouldn't.

The 2nd and 3rd place teams in the division play in the first round of the playoffs.

Why help the enemy?
