yeah his voice just never worked with video games...not that anyone else will really be better until EA works on it but his especially was rough. - Sabresfan-365
I don't think it works on television, either. But I pretty much hate every aspect of NBC's hockey broadcasts, so there's that.
Announcers in sports video games are a tough nut to crack because the developers can only record so much commentary. This creates two problems: (1) they end up applying recorded commentary to situations where it doesn't really apply and (2) it gets repetitive.

agreed, it might work if you really slowed gameplay down. Good for the hardcore fans but not so much for anyone else.
Obviously never in a million years would it happen, but would you - sbroads24
Interesting thought....if both players were unknown (rookies) i’d Say the defenseman is more valuable. So no would be my answer. Now knowing that Mcdavid is the player he is with the unknown defenseman... the answer changes to yes.
Now the third part, we have jack, Sam,ROR, very hopeful with Casey and and HUGE maybe with nylander. If Dahlin comes even close to a top player like he is projected to be... my final answer is not only no, but hell no, gotta take the chance he turns into THAT player.
If you could have one of the two which one do you want?

The NHL is idiots. Doc Emmerick is the WORST play-by-play announcer I have ever heard. He makes horrible jokes that fall flat, his voice is grating, his vocabulary is archaic and he calls the game like he's watching a boys gym team play handball in the pool.
He probably turns off more viewers than he draws in. Casual fans would probably rather watch WWE and trust me, WWE is putrid these days.
