Didn’t he say that he wants to be the highest paid dman in the league, or something along those lines?
If I were him I’d take the biggest offer I can get from a warm weather city. He’s got his cups, playing in TO with a fat contract seems like a headache waiting to happen. But at the same time, if he somehow brought Toronto a cup then they’d probs get a statue built of him and start comparing him to Bobby Orr. - Nucker101
I don't see TO winning a cup soon . Did Babcock and Auston kiss and make up yet? |

I think he said he just wants to win, he doesn't give a (frank) where it is, lol, then the Kings management scolded him and he suddenly wanted to be a King for life - LeftCoaster
No a few weeks back he came out and said Him and Karlsson have been keeping in close contact . He said there will be no hometown discount , this time they will be paid towards top of the scale |

I understood your point.
You used to preach patience and i have agreed with that.
I dont start judging drafts until 5-7 years after, not 2 years later, or 2 minutes later in some cases. - Reubenkincade

Didn’t he fight a teammate in practice just a few months ago?
If you want to build a culture where the next core forms a brotherhood and has a “us” mentality then a guy who fights in practice might not be the way to do it - Nucker101
That stuff happens in practice but in Kane's situation, he has a history.
It's not like he knocked out a team mate in public in front of an audience for being mouthed off to like Bieksa did in Winnipeg.

They should get paid, they have been the 2 best and most consistent defensemen over the past 5-6 years, with Hedman now being attached to the big 3 of nhl defensemen. |

Sutter is stop gap material that eats hard minutes. I have no real issues with him.
How long did you think this rebuild stuff was going too take, 1 draft maybe 2?
I expected 5-9 years of pain, starting back in 2012. - Reubenkincade
It worked for Canada's team(Leafs)... if the bar is set to being a good regular season team.... which seems to be where the bar is set when green with envy Canucks fans discuss other team's rebuilds. I'm not buying it though. The reset I said the Leafs would have to go through while Matthews is still young.... well it took a year but it's a common topic in Leaf Land already. Fans talked rebuild the last couple of seasons like it was a race... well... in their case, they ran a 400m race and just stopped running at 200m and declared themselves the winner. We will pass them eventually as they stand still at 200m. Patience.
In JB's 1st season, I laid down a time table of 8 years to be a cup challenger. I don't think that is a rubber stamp time frame for a rebuild at all... just taking into consideration that the Sedins would be here to the end of their contract. All the idiot talk towards JM because he has to work around the Sedins in a rebuild is just silly. There is no tear down when you have the Sedins here.... the owner hired a GM and gave him his work orders. At least FA picked someone who is capable at drafting...
All the evil talk about FA.... consider this... he chose to stick with JB the drafter vs firing JB the season flopper( if playoffs were the #1 desire JM would have long ago been fired) when all was said and done. It's not like FA had his head up his ass on the rebuild. Hard to know what kind of loyalty he has with players like the Sedins. He seemed to have the same loyal hang up on Luongo. He invested in them. He saw his investment through. It's frustrating.... but hardly a mixed message disaster unless you let Botchford do your thinking for you.. |

As Lefty said Leafs had plenty already before the supposed instant rebuild.
I tend to agree with you about how things transpire with FA and JB.
Havent read any Biatchford stuff in a very long time and wouldn't know where to find him. |

Yeah. I saw that list of players he mentioned that were there before. Where is JVR( he walks and no asset collected) and Bozak going to be next year and Kadri after that? When they have to break up that awesome group of young forwards to fill holes and throw insane amount of cash at UFA's... Instant rebuild I'm not claiming. I'm claiming they curtailed it too soon. Hence the race analogy????
I'd rage if we charged into win mode after winning the lottery draft. That is a recipe for disaster. Keep your 1st and second round picks. Do not throw $6m per at a 40 year old UFA's. Protect young players at the expansion draft. Add defense to fill the massive hole instead of more forwards over and over like the two they added this season. Stop trading high picks. These things were ignored because they flipped the switch too early. |

swiss have an exciting offence to watch! Can't ever recall a time when the swiss were exciting like this. Pesky yes but never exciting
found myself routing for them to pot one with that pressure
Diaz had good sense on that play ending in his goal, kinda a lumme type goal |

The shot? The passing? He finds seems and holes so fluid like(part eel)? He does everything with his head up and confident the puck is on the sweet spot of his stick blade all the time... hard to imagine this guy wont be in on half our offence after he transitions. |

Considering he just dominated one of the best mens leagues in the world... broke all kinds of records... won scoring title and MVP and repeated all those achievements in his championship winning playoff run... I'd say the jury was already in on that. Now he's proving he can suit up with NHL men. I'm confident that he'll make the adjustments just fine. He'll get knocked around but so have 100's of other prospects who've made careers in the NHL.
