He. is NHL ready just don't expect too much and give him talent to play with. His body size is fine. He does have NHL skill already

Id really like Joe Thornton to mentor him.

Don't trade his rights . Canucks own his rights for another year after his KHL stint. Force him to sign another KHL contract so he can't come back here

Waste of $, better off to sign Kane as long as it's not a LE kind of deal.

I have a tough time taking what JD says seriously. His monday mailbag answers seem to differ from what a lot of other hockey ops people say about prospects.

So do I. He is my pick at 3. This years Dubois. Everyone was like oh Puljujärvi is so good. Columbus taking him was no surprise to me.

He is comfortable there. Might be a last ditch effort to win a cup. Come to Van to be traded at deadline.

I tend too lean that way also, Montreal needs a player like that.
Like Dubois he plays wing and centre, can be their #1 centre in a couple years.
Someone like Zadina or Tkachuk could be an option for us, although I am not that interested in Tkachuk, I would take Zadina over any of the defensemen remainining, after Dahlin, of course.

If Walhstrom goes 3 to Montreal. Im looking to take Gaboriks contract and 4oa for 7oa. Stealing Zadina or Svechnikov.

.@JDylanBurke: (Wahlstrom) has an excellent shot. A lot of people compare it to Boeser. I'd go so far to say it's ahead of Boeser's at this stage of his development. But he's also a really good skater, strong on his feet, protects the puck well and is a really good playmaker too

I don't take JD too seriously, he thinks Hutton is a top 4 defenseman.

Dobson’s playoffs have me leaning towards him as of late. Vantel sees something in him and he is a ton of character. I just could not live with myself if I passed on Wahlstom at 7 though.

🤣 general consensus around here, dont take JD too seriously.

No one is perfect at scouting but some are just better then others

I would move up for Svechnikov but not Zadina. I think Zadina could fall.

I really like Dobson as well, but i believe similar players are available a bit later in the draft, such as McIsaac, who I have been high on, since late last season.
Maybe, trading back a couple spots for another pick is an option, similar to what Benning tried doing last draft with Vegas when he new his guy was still going to be available.

What would be the point other then to develop his body? He could do that in the AHL and learn the NA game. If he destroys the AHL, can call him up.
