Spezza is free and O’Reilly costs futures - CanuckDon
Bottom line is we have to do something that will cost us. Whether it's O'Reilly, Vanek or someone else we need too infuse something into the lineup to replace some of the Sedins scoring. O'Reilly will get 50-60 its per year fairly consistently. |

Tough one. initially I thought it probably should not have counted as Fleury's stick was contacted slightly before the puck crossed the line...but if you look carefully Carpenter did intentionally push the WPG player into Fleury which I'm sure was a factor in the final decision. They pretty much had to go with good goal after that point.
The D men are also told I believe to push players into the goalies to help their causes...but it also makes it much more confusing for all involved including the refs and the people in the war rooms. - LordHumungous
At first I said yes. Slow motion replay, Fluerys had moved his leg out before it went by. Cant say for certain that the contact didnt hinder him by an inch or two to make the save.
VGK got the call when Neal slashed Helly in the face earlier in the season. Was quite controversial then so make up call who knows.
I would of said no goal.

Speeza doesnt make the team better. O'Reilly does but Van would still need a piece or two to even get into the playoffs |

I said it was a goal, you could see him getting pushed into Fleury and they changed the rules before the playoffs on goaltender interference challenges so I knew they'd give it to Winnipeg. VGK probably gets a break if it's in Vegas. |

Hanks replacement for the next 5 years . Removes the urgency and Tanevs salary covers part of the cost. Also it gives you another trade chip with Sutter when EP is ready to move to C - VANTEL
Is O'Reilly being shopped? |

Yep...it was clear that Carpenter was pushing the WPG player into Fleury at that point I knew it would count. |

Trading futures at this stage of the rebuild would be moronic. The O’Reilly posts are foolish. Draft and develop. |

Its also the route that Armia takes though. Carpenter allowed to protect the space. Armia's direction didnt really change. |

Tanev = futures. Trading tanev for. Vet = trading futures.
They should be targeting picks and prospects |

Canucks desperately need a top six center this year, I still think Spezza is a good option if they could get an additional 2nd rounder with him. - LeftCoaster
That is my number 1 choice also. We could then maybe eat 50% of his hit at the deadline and get another 2nd too |

I don't think he is overpaid. Maybe by like 300k. Tanev certainly isn't worth a 60 point forward. Maybe a consistent 50 point Center that isn't one of the top defensive forwards in the game.
Sam Reinhart. Bjugstad as Vantel has mentioned. - manvanfan

This team is 5 years away from being in the playoffs. I want a team that will contend for a cup not a team contending to come in 8th.
Its like people here want the leafs of the last 10 years who had a goal of making the playoffs. I want a team like we had before, you know one that was battling for a cup year after year. |
