When a team like Arizona has more than double the goals we do from their Dmen, we need a major upgrade to our offense. |

This is the top 100 it says for an expanded list including D - manvanfan
Ya I just got to it, the d list is interesting.
Dahlin
Boquist
Dobson
Hughes
Bouchard
top5
How far ahead Svechnikov is makes me curious, same with Wahlstrom. Who's this Kravstov kid? |

When your dmen score what 10 goals... maybe? as a group, you need a lot of everything. BPA in both rounds, hoping for a d and a f. |

I think Kravtsov could be the steal of the draft. - LeftCoaster
This is why I get angry with Canucks . A team this bad only having 6 picks. There are some terrific payers from 15-31 and we have one pick |

I've heard the word "safe" for a description of Dobson a few times. I've watched a ton of highlights and seen him play 7 times on TV this year. I don't see "safe" about his game. If you were to go safe, I would go Jared McIsaac.
Hughes out of all of them probably has the least amount of Upside. He's playing in the better league already and is one of the oldest. Less development left for him then the other 3.
Dobson was on the highest scoring defence in the Q. I read an article that figures that Dobson's scoring per/60 minutes would actually be higher then Bouchard's. - manvanfan
His defense partner Galipeau was the highest scoring dman, but I'm sure you meant draft eligible
I know Bouchard played a lot but Dobson was still a top pair guy. Bouchard would likely need to be playing close to 10 min more a game to have less pts/60.
its possible but that's a huge margin. |

I think Tkachuk is going to drop lower than most think. I don't think he is top 7 - NorthNuck
Agree
He will probably go 9th. |

100%
That being said, go with the prospect you like best in round 1 and then go D heavy the rest of the way |

Morning all! Thanks Carol!
I like Bouchard and Dobson a lot, would be very happy with either as we really need a righty. I like how Bouchard is already a minute muncher and comes in as a huge scorer. Dobson is one of those draft year risers, started the year not even on the first round radar. Sometimes those guys just keep rising. I think either will be great picks. Im hoping for both, with a slight edge to Bouchard as I think he had a more impressive year. - neem55
Dobson is this years Dubois. |

Ya similar to Glass and Dubois, big draft year performances. could goas high as 5. I wouldn't be surprised if Montreal took Boquist at 3.

Thanks Carol
We need a home run, not another safe player.
Bouchard is gudbranson slow, no thanks.
Dobson is safe, not fancy, another OJ, which isn't bad, just not great.
Hughes is small but..... so gifted. Lhd
Bodqvist is almost 6foot and has a cannon as well as speed to burn.
In safe pick ranking I go.
Dobson
Bodqvist
Bouchard
Hughes
In potential upside I go
Hughes
Bodqvist
Bouchard
Dobson
In who I want to gamble on I go
Bodqvist
Bouchard
Hughes don't want another LHD nope
Dobson
I think the odds of bouchard learning to skate are better then Dobson picking up that exta bit of offense. Hughes is such a high risk reward player I'm not down with rolling the dice on, even if he turns out to be the most offensive player on the list. - Pres.cup
Dobson is like petriangelo. He is a lock to play 25 minutes a night. He might not be all offense but you can always have a guy to play 3rd pairing minutes and be a number 1PP guy.

Just to play Devil’s advocate, isn’t Bouchard more suited to play 25 mins a night? He already plays like 30 mins a night for London. |

Probably won't see whomever they draft for at least two years but we can drool over them during that time and brag about Bennings brilliance while we're at it |

"S.E.A.L." scoring rate pretty much. What "seal" doesn't take into account is things like Junior tournaments and who you play with.
Wahlstroms numbers are higher because of Hughes.
Boqvist a ppg in SuperElit which is basically like being a ppg in the CHL leagues but he's 5 months to almost a year younger then the other 4 D.
Kravtsov played in the KHL. Kotkaniemi in Liiga. Higher scoring rates in SEAL then the NCAA. |

I like Dobson but think he is 4th behind Bouchard, Hughes and Boqvist.
I think the draft ends up unraveling kind of like the Laine year when CLB took Dubois and peoples predictions are scrambled. - belcherbd
CBJ taking Dubois didn't shatter the draft board though, EDM took Pulujarvi and then everything went back to what was roughly expected. This year it seems every team picking in the top 10 might have totally different orders from 4-10 |

Everything i've read on Bouchard has his skating as above average. Watching his tape, I don't see molasses. You sure you're thinking of the right guy? |

I dont disagree. Just seems more people say Dobson cant be a top pairing guy. If we get either Im happy |

Since Boqvist will not likely fall to us any one of Dobson, Bouchard or Hughes will be fine. Since we are out of the top 5 again I honestly don't care who we take as long as it's a Dman. |

I'd be shocked if Boquist doesn't go top5. He doesn't get the love cause CHL/NCAA get all the attention, but he is far and away my favorite to watch in terms of tape. good defensively, unreal in the offensive zone in terms of shot/PPQB. I said earlier, I think MTL picks him. |

I hope we draft nothing but defense for the next 2 drafts unless we win the lottery next year.
who cares - hughes-petterson
who cares - Bo - brock
would be awfully nice |

I could be wrong but I think the talk around EDM was taking a defender, namely Juolevi or Sergachev but couldn't pass on poolparty and the Canucks were looking at a Dubois.
I think there was a interview where Benning referenced CLB going against the grain and it changed their plans.
