I really want to deal sven for a late round pick.
Would be nice to add a guy like Kandre Miller around 25th or so. |

I think what he said was that he was on the highest scoring D in the league... not was the highest scoring D.... - Pres.cup
When Bouchard shared the ice with OJ and Mete, he had half the points. Dobson was on top pairing but still sharing more ice time then Bouchard and was a PPG. If Bouchard had someone else to play with I'd say he would have been closer to a PPG then what he was. They are both very close and will probably both be very good D in the league. |

Love this. Don't see it, but if it somehow happened I'd be very stoked. |

I'd be shocked if Boquist doesn't go top5. He doesn't get the love cause CHL/NCAA get all the attention, but he is far and away my favorite to watch in terms of tape. good defensively, unreal in the offensive zone in terms of shot/PPQB. I said earlier, I think MTL picks him. - neem55
I like him too but I've yet to hear anyone call him good in the defensive end. I think most people agree he will need to work on that part of this game to become a difference maker in the NHL.

Hmm, I guess I just didn't see him playing 30 minutes a night if he wasn't. So very productive offensively but a bit of a defensive liability? |

I could be wrong but I think the talk around EDM was taking a defender, namely Juolevi or Sergachev but couldn't pass on poolparty and the Canucks were looking at a Dubois.
I think there was a interview where Benning referenced CLB going against the grain and it changed their plans. - belcherbd
Did Friedman not say that the Canucks had a deal in place for Subban if Dubois was still on the board? |

My pipe dream would be dealing:
Tanev to the Oil for 10 and Russel
Sven for Caps 1st
Draft: Bouchard at 7, Dobson at 10, Kandre Miller at 27.
OJ Bouchard
Miller Dobson
Stetcher Tryamkin
Win the lottery next year and get Hughes
EDIT
Gadjovich Hughes petterson
Dahlin Bo Brock
JV Gaudette Lind

Since Boqvist will not likely fall to us any one of Dobson, Bouchard or Hughes will be fine. Since we are out of the top 5 again I honestly don't care who we take as long as it's a Dman. - LordHumungous
i think he might, though it really will hinge on what the senators do. i think between ottawa arizona and detroit hughes bouchard and a forward will go |

It would have been a miracle if that had worked out. We get Subban, then draft Sergachev. I had him at 5th instead of Juolevi, still a little sour about that but it should pass once OJ makes the NHL |

Karlsson wasn't good defensively either when he was drafted and it took him a couple years in the NHL to become better defensively.
Drafting for potential, not for NHL ready though.
For SEAL scoring rates. Tkachuk is quite a ways down there. Simply you pair him with someone who is a little bit better then he is and he becomes better. He didn't play with anyone that little bit better on Boston this year.
Wahlstrom with Hughes got better. Tkachuk with Mittelstadt, he gets better. Tkachuk with EP would probably be a very good pairing. |

Everything i've read on Bouchard has his skating as above average. Watching his tape, I don't see molasses. You sure you're thinking of the right guy? - neem55
Compared to the other 4 defensemen he's slow to turn and accelerate. |

I wonder if Montreal goes Zadina or Wahlstrom |

seen lots that say he isnt good at the defending side of defense but that he can skate/pass out of trouble very well when recovering the puck and transitioning to offense |

If I'm the senators and I'm not 100% sure we can hang on to Karlsson I'm taking Boqvist |

I remember something like that but he also referenced Horvat being part of the deal. |

"There are at least two or three [defensemen] that we really like. We’re going to take the best player available. If there’s another forward at 7 that we feel will turn out to be the best player, we’re going to take the best player available.”
If JB's 2 or 3 D are off the board. Might be getting a forward. |

There was speculation that it was more than just the 5th involved though. Another significant piece. |

I’m just relieved to hear that he’s not set on taking a dman no matter what.
The question is, is he bothering to include Dahlin in that group of 2 or 3 or is he saying he likes 2 or 3 out of Hughes/Bouchard/Boqvist/Dobson? |
|

Agree.

in my mind the top 3 dont change, though wahlstrom could cause a dubois/pujujarvi situation.
in either situation i think ottawa still goes forward and hughes and bouchard go to arizona and detroit. if Sens do D to replace karlsson, i think detroit may switch to a foward |

Does the super elit show post icetime? I hadn't heard that Boqvist was being used that heavily. |

agreed. i think the coyotes are almost a lock to take a D and detroit needs everything so if ottawa goes the replacement route then detroit takes the next best player |

I think there is a chance Car passes on Svech. Their new owner is a wildcard, Don Waddell is trash and they might want to take Zadina to play with Necas.

His has been after a RHD for so long now. There's 3 right there.
Add in the 4 top ranked forwards. That's 7 players. If Even the 3 D go to ARI, OTT, DET that leaves Van with 2 forwards to pick from. |
