Where will Hart play if not the AHL? I thought he was going to age out of the WHL after this season. - dragonoffrost

I would be monumentally shocked if that became even remotely possible. |

Would love to see him start rather than back up. Yes, he graduates from juniors this year. - Giroux_Is_God
Do they even consider a three goalie system in the AHL. Hart as #1. Stolie and Lyon as 2a and 2b. Where they rotate as backup and then when Hart gets his rest day they both dress? |

I think Alex Lyon wins an NHL job out of camp. Neuvirth is traded or bought out. Hart Splits time with Tokarski or Stolarz depending on which is resigned. |

i don't see a tandem of elliott/neuvirth holding - perhaps even from before the season begins. i think lyon or stolarz will get the backup role. i really liked what i saw from stolarz in his limited time with the flyers, but obviously lyon accounted himself well in his call up and with his run in the calder cup, and i think he'll get a chance too.

I think I rather try to trade + retain salary for Neuvy compared to just buying out. |

I think this will be one of the interesting stories of the Summer and Camp. |

I agree I think they try a trade, and if that doesn't work then they waive him. If someone picks him up then no super loss to you and you aren't paying for him. and otherwise you let him split time with Hart in the AHL.
The trade is obviously preferable. |

right now the best chance to win next season is a healthy Nuevy, maybe he will finally have a healthy season.
I prefer Hexy trades for Grubauer, with how the Caps are playing I think it could be very possible. |

Carter Hart is exceptional.
One thing, though, is that the Silvertips played to their strength, which means they played an extremely tight-checking game. Well structured, they don't give other teams much.
Unfortunately they don't really create a lot of offense as a result and it killed them.
My take:
Hart's a very good prospect. Numbers might be a little inflated due to the style of game his team played in front of him, but he never really gets rattled and he's gonna be a real, real good pro. |

Hopefully this will slow the roll on those who think Frost makes the Flyers out of camp next season.
It sounds like the kid needs to put on some muscle so he can withstand the rigors of playing with men.
And if he wants to be a center in the NHL, he will need to do that.
Giroux may be small, but by all accounts his offseason regimen is pretty hardcore. - MBFlyerfan
Frost is being compared to Giroux by a few around here. Maybe they're right. Maybe they're wrong. I remember clear as day how sure the majority expected G to grab a roster spot right out of camp, only to be beaten by Steve Donnie. G's pre season game in London Ontario was easily the worst I saw him play.
I understand the circumstances of Giroux's wisdom teeth and all of that. What I'm trying to say, I wouldn't put expectations too high on Frost, Morin, Myers, German Rubtsov even Patrick himself. I think we're expecting a serious let down if we do. Scott Laughton took forever to get to the NHL level as a mainstay. |

No one is trading for Neuvy without us flat out giving away assets to take him. No one wants a backup goalie that can't stay healthy. |

Neuvy will be hurt by November, making this all a moot point. |

LOL the kid showed at the end of the season he's a valid 2C in the NHL in his rookie year. Yeah we are putting unreasonable expectations on him |

and he had a rough go in the playoffs for a couple of years before winning in 2012. usually takes time. |

Agreed. I just don't want to be so quick to write off a 19 year old kid that many folks see promise in. - johndewar
Totally agree. I gave the example of Radek Faksa. No reason why Rubtsov can't follow a similar track. |
