We all have our favorites.
I once thought Myers was better than Subban. - sbroads24
Last jersey I ever bought.
He was ruined by the Chara comparison, everyone wanted him to be Chara.
I would still take him back. He would be a good 3-4 D-man, under Housley.

I'd rather not trade any capable D-man at the moment.

But you have three other defenseman that play the same position ?

This is going to be exactly like the Kane situation we're going to wait too long and his value is going to go down sell high for once - gerbe75pts
So we should have sold when he was being investigated for sexual assault? Kane's value was never as high as we or Murray thought |

Gerbe
foligno
Bobby Ryan
Ennis
Hogson
RoR
So as you can see ROR will be traded lol |

just because they play does not mean they are any good.
McCabe is on a cheap contract. I'd rather not move him. |

He would have been traded on draft day To Minnesota for Brodin, or so the story goes. |

No his value was high in the beginning of the season when he was red hot then of course we waited and thought we could get maximum value for him that worked out great |

I didn't say I thought ROR was better than Panarin, I said he can be as important to a team as Panarin - jcragcrumple
I'll jsut never agree with that.
Panarin had 61 EV points. O'Reilly had 61 points.
I think his defense is valuable. But I'll use the same argument I always used to defend Ovechkin or even Eichel.
People act like guys like Ovi or Eichel sit down and take a nap once the puck leaves the O-zone, while guys like O'Reilly play defense and goalie, it's just over rated.
Just for example
Goals against per 60 at 5 on 5
Eichel 2.86
O'Reilly 2.41
Now, of course O'Reilly is the superior D player, no dispute, but Eichel's superior offense to ROR's makes the difference null and void, and then some.
Panarin is on Eichel's level offensively |

What you're getting Max Domi and a high pick
And that high pick could be a defenseman that could be a first pairing or you could get a Winger |

This was one of the best seasons, and his healthiest season, and he kept his nose clean for 18 months. We did sell high. High just wasn't what we thought it was. So if we're getting a comparable, or slightly better return for ROR, they'd be wise to keep him. |

I never understood this.
When you draft a player, its based on what you have seen them do up to draft day.
Why did they suddenly think they could turn him in to Chris Pronger?

And you'd probably trade him for #11 and Ho Sang. I'm done with maybes and potential. We have a sure thing here. Different strokes for Sabres folks

I probably would.
I’d also be able to use the 6 mil in additional cap space to sign other guys that can play roles for my team.

We're gonna run ROR out of town, just like we do with all our good players, and we'll try to convince ourselves that the modest return we get will be better as the sum of the parts. Everyone will mf him on the way out of town and we'll be worse off. |

Why do you say that ? He’s Exactly what this team needs and we can force the Red Wings to trade him to us ..just like the blue jackets did when they did their offer sheet - gerbe75pts
Go ahead and count up all the offer sheets over the last 5 years compared to the number of RFAs of the nonexclusive variety. |
