I just won’t cry if it’s Sutter like you. Crying is for wussys. I think they roll with 3 Assistsnts for a year and that’s probably a smart plan. It’s just a letter

There has been some more buzz on Toews to Montreal. This is getting exciting.

It will be interesting to see if the team's attitude changes with the captain. We've had a low key (but highly skilled) captain for 15 years now (subtracting the 2 year Luongo fiasco).

Sedin
Luongo
Naslund
Messier
TL

Edit: based on pattern history, the next captain should be a real dog.

I believe it will. I like Hank and all but he was never really Captain material...I think Bo is. Luongo was a disaster as Captain and it made Gillis look like even more of an idiot for allowing that to happen.

I actually think Henrik was a fantastic captain off the ice. One of the best in the league.

Amazing at handling the media in a hockey market during bad times(he answered every question after they just lost the SCF, most men would not do that, including most/all posters here). People got frustrated that he’d stay positive during losing streaks but that’s exactly what he’s supposed to do and I’ve seen other captains get ripped by their fans for doing the same things.

A near perfect example off the ice, gym rat, never heard rumours about him being a party animal lol, always in the best shape before training camp. Charity work, donated a million (frank)ing dollars. Every ex-player seems to respect the hell outta him. Even Kesler on the Ducks never really tried to (frank) around with Henrik, I remember him having no issues with putting Hansen in a head lock during a board battle in his first game as a Duck against us though lol.

On the ice I do wish he showed some more passion/emotion at times for sure.

Well stated. I'm a big big fan of the twin's charity work (not just direct cash alone). It's meant a lot to the Children's Hospital. Their contributions have made a measurable difference in our ability to deliver care.

But I have the same feelings as you on the ice. I think his laidback attitude really was glaring as a centre. Regardless of the 'C', I want to see our centres strong, fast, and aggressive. Hank was strong and incredibly durable, but fast and aggressive... Meh.

Well said. Off the ice he set many examples. But yes on the ice is where I would clarify that I didn't think he was Captain material. As you said more passion/emotion and toughness were needed IMO. But still he commands a mountain of respect.

I see it as 3 assistants. Would prefer Horvat but expect Sutter or Guddy

Horvat is definitley getting a letter. If he doesn't get the C it's because they roll with 3 A's. imo

I am a firm believer that at least 1 of uour top 2 defenseman should have a letter, can Edler and Tanev rotate A's?
Obviously only if Tanev is still here, if not, maybe Stecher😁
