,@rayferrarotsn: I talked to somebody connected with Swedish Hockey Federation & they felt there's an expectation on Pettersson, from people in Vancouver, that is unrealistic for him next year. There is going to be a need for a transition for him. It won't be as sudden as we hope

Pretty hard to play a certain way, when you have a super slow line, then a medium speed line, and players breaking out before your team actually has possesion.

this is what I mean, 3 years with a coach with no plan.....looks bad. 1 year under a coach with structure and a plan and he looks good.
Canucks have picked crappy coaches for a long time. players will look bad under them

he's just a headcase, Ducks fans said he had a good season with them in 11/12 where he looked like a 2nd pairing dman and the 2 years after with them he sucked ass and was eventually moved in the Kesler trade.

People can blame his teammates, coaches, etc all they want but he's clearly just wildly inconsistent. He's decent on the bottom pairing when he's playing good and is confident, but he looks like an AHL'er when he's lacking confidence.


I agree that having a team identity definitely helps though.

well he was pretty (frank)ing young then which is undoubtedly a factor

ya, he threw a couple of pizza's up the middle in his first preseason but he was still one of our more solid dmen, especially on the PK

biggest problem was everyone was hoping to get theodore (who is finally starting to come good) and etem from the kesler trade and held it against him

Playing with much much much better players helps. Sbisa had flashes here but really there was no roster support whatsoever for him. Vegas provides that and they are able to play through a lot of his gaffes.
