Ristolainen to the Oilers for klefbom , Yamamoto - gerbe75pts
So I see you guys are generally against the idea of a 1-for-1 Risto for Klefbom swap. From the perspective of Oilers fans, anything more than a 1-for-1 would be a massive failure and some are even against a 1-for-1. Both Dmen have their strengths and flaws: Risto is a more creative offensive threat (PP numbers) with a track record of offensive success (consistent 40-point Dman) and no consistent health issues while Klefbom is the more active shooter (between 2.5 and 3 shots/game last two years) with a track record of defensive/possession ability (see numbers prior to this year) and a better contract (1.2mil).
I recognize that injuries can really hurt a player's value but- for what it's worth- one of those injuries was a staph infection where he missed 52 games and the one this year was from a shoulder injury back in junior in Sweden that hadn't properly healed and had left bone debris in his shoulder. This adversely impacted his performance this year and had him unable to use his dominant arm at full strength.
Reading the situation, Oilers fans are generally more okay with a 1-for-1 deal than Sabres fans but both sides have exceptions so it's likely at least close to fair. Perhaps Klefbom and a mid-round pick? A solid prospect (not Yamamoto) instead?
