I can't think of a worse combination. "Here's the puck. YOU shoot." "No, here's the puck back, YOU shoot."

Seems other teams have no issue shooting against the Isles.

But mine is the best example. So I win on quality.

I believe Noah gets paid based on quantity, not quality. If quality mattered, 7 would have been banned for life.

I'm relatively confident that, before his career is over, we will see Josh Bailey try to pass on a shootout attempt

The latest I hear is Lou is negotiating how many puppies Snow can keep in his office. The sides appear to be deadlocked, so Lou isn't coming.

A really small small part of me wants to see JT walk for nothing and Snow to keep his job just to see the fans & media reaction online

If Tavares walks, this franchise is officially over for me. Not because of them sucking, but it would have been Snow at the helm for yet another UFA to walk without so much as listening to offers.

Was recalling the same play. I think he passed to Okposo who was in a worse position to shoot, but managed to finish anyway.

Exclusive: Lou Lamoriello will be hired to run Islanders’ hockey operations

By Arthur Staple 4m ago
Lou Lamoriello will be running the Islanders’ hockey operations in a matter of days, sources confirmed to The Athletic on Monday. The former Devils and Leafs general manager has been rumored to be coming in, either as president of hockey operations, GM or both to replace Garth Snow, and now it’s a matter of when and not if.

Two sources also confirmed an online report from the French-language website Hockey30 that Lamoriello met with John Tavares last week, clearly in anticipation of assuming control of the Islanders. Tavares, as you all know, will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1 after playing out the final year of his contract with the Isles in 2017-18.

Where this leaves Snow, the Isles GM for the previous 12 seasons, is unclear. He and head coach Doug Weight arrived back on Long Island on Monday after spending last week at the World Championships along with Eric Cairns, director of player development, and other front-office staffers. Snow’s contract runs for at least four more years with a steep buyout clause.

But Lamoriello, who was removed as Leafs GM on April 30 in favor of Kyle Dubas, will be fully in charge, sources say. It isn’t clear if the 75-year-old Lamoriello will be bringing anyone with him to join the Islanders front office, which already has his son, Chris, in place as assistant GM.

The meeting with Tavares last week was a clear sign that Islanders co-owners Scott Malkin and Jon Ledecky are still heavily invested in keeping their star and captain. Putting Lamoriello, a three-time Stanley Cup winner with during his historic tenure with the Devils, at the top of the front office adds a level of credibility that can only help the team’s chances of retaining Tavares, who has been craving that sort of respectability for the organization.

Lamoriello hasn’t yet been announced to be leaving the Leafs, where he had a contract as a senior advisor, but clearly Toronto president Brendan Shanahan had no intention to force Lamoriello to stay on. Malkin has been meeting regularly with Pat Brisson, Tavares’ agent, and those two most likely arranged the sit-down.

The Dec. 20 announcement that the Islanders won the right to develop an arena at Belmont Park was a big step towards that respectability, especially in Tavares’ eyes. “For my situation, it’s really exciting news. I’m not going to say it’s going to change or ultimately make my decision, but everything that’s involved in my daily life plays into it and going to the rink, playing games is a big part of that,” Tavares said at the press conference that day.

Of course, the Islanders went just 17-24-7 after that joyful afternoon, sinking to a second straight lottery season and sixth in Tavares’ nine seasons on the Island. The Isles hold the 11th and 12th picks in next month’s NHL Draft and it will now be Lamoriello’s charge — with help from Snow’s amateur scouting staff, which begins its draft meetings on Tuesday — to find new blood for the organization, through the draft and possibly through trades as well.

And now for the first time since Charles Wang made the unlikely decision to hire Snow fresh out of his NHL goaltending career on July 20, 2006, the Islanders will have someone new in charge

More details are to come in the next few days, but there was contact last week between UFA-to-be John Tavares and former TOR GM Lou Lamoriello.
I'm not exactly sure how it will all work, but we've all believed Lamoriello will eventually run the NYI hockey operations department...and it's believed he represented the Islanders when he spoke to Tavares.
