I'm sure he wants to get paid and I don't think anyone holds it against him. He also wants to win a Cup and play for a competitive team. I don't think money is the problem. He'll get his big contract whether he stays or goes.

I was just bustin', cuz of the Rangers' history of overpaying their players (mainly pre-cap era) with at best modest results.

Yes, money will be an issue. It always is. But JT wants to be somewhere that gives him a chance at winning. I'm not a huge LL fan, but as you or someone else said, anything is an improvement over Garth, and LL does have 3 Cups on his resume.

Yeah, I don't disagree. I think he goes to free agency, sees whats out there and if the Isles are willing to match or use the extra year, he stays.
