Noel is interesting. Apparently another one of those guys who has a big frame and soft hands, but is frustrating to watch because he'll have a dominant game and then do nothing the next game. That was the same knock on Mantha as well and he's turned out to be solid for Detroit. Just gotta hope he isn't another Steve Bernier or Benoit Pouliot - Nucker101
If I remember correctly Bernier played some meaningful minutes on a cup team , am I right? |

With NJ I think, he was apart of their solid 4th line with S.Gionta and and R.Carter |

Canucks need a full reset, this isn't going to get better imo in the next few years. |

That is what I thought. You do sometimes need some big players that can handle the playoffs |

I assume Tallon thought Marchessault was a fluke and that Smith was going to be a cap anchor. - Nucker101
Wasn’t Tallon not in control?
I thought he had a job change then was put back in as GM. |

I don't think you'll see the same mistakes when Seattle gets a team. - LeftCoaster
was there ever a final decision on IF seattle is approved? |

I read he thought he was too small and that was a fluke year because of injuries. - VANTEL
He had an attitude problem supposedly.

It depends how aggressive they get. Like I said before , there is no excuse not to ask Edler at the end of the year to accept a trade. You can bring him back. He doesn't have to wear only one jersey in his career |

Yeah, he was put back in control before the expansion draft. He was the one who was high on Bjugstad and Petrovic.
He never signed Marchessault and Smith, that was the previous GM(Rowe) |

Benning was quoted around the TDL this year saying he has too much respect for Alex to ask him to waive. He said if the player approaches him then he'll accommodate them. |

I know what you are saying but I think trades are a big deal also. Getting a 20-30 pick for Tanev and moving out pieces over the next 2 years like Sutter Gudbrandson Sven Granlund Hutton while they still have value. You pick up a third line center and then Sutter is expendable . Build through the draft yes but get more picks. We know we will suck next year so make sure you draft high. - VANTEL
Rather do a hockey trade. 20-30oa is not much IMO for a true shutdown injuries or not. Hold out for more or keep Tanev. |

I don't understand why Trevor Linden and Jim Benning continue to hang on to guys hoping, at what point do you cut them loose and move on? - LeftCoaster
When their contracts are up. |

For sure, we've yet to see Benning add picks through trades because he's been trying to be competitive. - LeftCoaster
He was burdened with NMC’s & NTC’s.
You’ve forgotten that & he did trade Burrows & Hansen. Who else was left? |

I don’t believe there’s a set time it should take, there’s so many variables for each team.
Plus there’s an element of luck in the draft, it’ll happen when it happens, if ever. |

Bjugstad is the guy Gillis wanted for Luongo if I remember correctly, but Talon liked him too much even then. |

I think he views Alex like a 3rd Sedin off the ice. He asked Garrison, Bieksa, Burrows and Hansen to waive but I guess he has a deeper respect for the Swedes |

Yeah, and ironically he was Sutter and Pouliot for Kesler from what I can remember
I do remember hearing he wanted at least 1 or 2of Kadri/Gardiner/Bozak from TO for Luongo. And offered Washington Hodgson for Carlson before the Kassian deal but they said no.
Those would have been nice and likely saved his job.

He has played 95 out of 164 games in the last two years. 13 games over half. Take the young pick. There are some very good players around there. |

Bullpoop, you make hard decisions and ask players to move just like he did with Bieksa, Burrows, Gansen and Garrison.
The only ones untradeable were the twins. |
