There isn’t a whole lot out there FA wise that will fit our team. I guess time will tell. We need two LW’s and a goalie to pair with Ullmark. How Botts goes about doing that will determine how fast this ship gets turned around.

If the teams swapped goalies Jets would have swept Vegas. Hellebuyck has just not been good enough.

They are hardly set on D. Their 2nd best rhd is nelson/bogo. Finding two good wingers, a really good goalie and a top 4 d-man in one off season is borderline impossible.

We have guys with an outside shot like CJ Smith, Nylander, Pu, Olofsson. Lots of free agents like Vanek for example we can give a one year deal to as a stop gap. It’s not impossible but very interesting non the least to see what Botts can do this summer.

Colin Miller and Erik Haula weren't misfits, they were under-appreciated. Minnesota had no choice but to double down on the Hanzal deal and consistently gave him more undeserved ice time than Haula. They were wrong to do that.

Karlsson, Fleury, Theodore, Neal. None of them are misfits, they were just made available, either through a necessary evil to keep other talent or because the GM was a moron.

He absolutely was. He had almost as many goals this year, 43, than total points from the previous 162 games, 45. He was putting up 3rd liner numbers before this year. He was a career <8% shooter before 23% this year.

They all had chips on their shoulders. To be banished to an expansion team? "I'll show them!". Gallant had the biggest chip of all. They even talk about it on their NBCSN mini-doc. And the massacre a week before the season brought them all together to play for something even bigger than themselves, and bonded them to the city.

Dahlin and Mittelstadt make this team a lot better regardless. We might not make the playoffs but we are no longer a joke.
