Who is “we”?
The fans of the game have zero influence on what the owners want. - Larsson_fan
It's funny, you'd think they would, and in any other line of business they would, but there's just something about sports that keeps most of the people coming back regardless. Well, many things in fact: nostalgia, FOMO, keeping up with the Joneses(which I guess is mostly the same as FOMO), blind optimism... |

Youre not wrong, which why I fully expect a lock out. - Larsson_fan
I see no reason why there wouldn't be one either. It's tradition at this point, what are we at 3 in a row so far? Let's make it 4! Plus the 10 day strike in '92 if you count that we're at 4 straight work stoppages. |

I think the only way we would trade Risto is if we were able to sign John Carlson in Free Agency (Which I think is a Long Shot) so that we don't completely Weaken our RD, but even if we sign Carlson I wouldn't mind keeping Risto as our #2 RD.
Also I would love for the Sabres to get Montreal to trade the #3 pick for ROR because that would help in getting a 1st line winger for Eichel. Most people would want Montreal to add but honestly I would be fine with just pick #3OA. |

so you say risto is worse
yet we are getting klefbom and pick 10 for him

The premise being that the oilers are overpaying because Chiarelli is dumb. I don't know why you're overlooking that.
I know it won't happen, but that's the thought behind it. |

Yup. Sit out for a year and all they need some paint on the ice and a few commercials saying “Thank You fans!” And we’re back eating their poop. |

Maybe they are learning, a bit, they did manage to not totally insult us the last time around with that horsepoop. |

I'm drunk but I wish we never trade for Ryan O'Reilly should just gave girgs the shot at number two at the time he seem like he could progress... |

The same people that want to trade for Skinner probably also want to trade Risto for him or Risto for Klefbom.
- SabreWest
Well if youd pay attention the theory is
Skinner + for ROR
Klefbom + 10 for Risto.
But yes, We all just want one for one deals because trades.

July 1 will bring a lot of clarity. The whipping boys will either be traded by then, or they will probably be on the team to start the year if not moved by then. I expect the heat to get ratcheted up through June and then cool off |

My thoughts.
Limit the NTC/NMC clause to time accumulated in the league like the MLB does.
Make out clauses in contracts based on performance metrics. IF the players is cut only any bonus that were left to be paid counts towards the cap the next two years. IE if there were still 2MM in bonus left $1MM YR 1 $1MM YR 2 count against the cap. All other salary is released.
Introduce compensatory selections for FA lost based on net salary lost/paid.
Get rid of the college out clause. |

I would love Skinner. Deal doesn’t have to include ROR. But if we are talking young guys with breakout potential I’d kick tires on Burakovsky, Sheary, Athanisiou, Niederritter. |

My source says Ror to be named captain...Botts is willing to pay the PRICE, hearts will be broken.
Lehner has made huge strides in his long term rehabilitation center.
Things are looking good for next year.

If I’m Botts I’d really consider moving pick 32 for a young winger. Tie it in with Girgensons if we have too. |
