With the ok and sign off from Pegula. - SABRES 89
They're not there for hockey decisions. He makes the pitch, he shows how the financials work, he tells the pegulas how the player fits the team the Pegulas rubber stamp the transaction.
I mean sure I guess you can blame the owners, but all they're doing is signing off on a roster move the General Manager, whom they hired to run the ship, chose to do. I suppose you can blame them for hiring a sub par employee. |

Bailey
Baptiste
Fasching
Nylander
Olofsson
to come in and set the world on fire. there is no indication that the first four are ready to do so and Olofsson has never played on the NHL surface outside maybe a handful of games. - ImThatGuy
The dark horse is Pu. He was close to making the team last year. Maybe not setting the world on fire, but there will be competition. Pu, O'Regan and Smith will be in the mix with Bailey, Nylander and Baptiste. Fasching is donezo imo

What's with this I hear ? ... a shakeup at BN ? John Vogl is out leaving May 31st.
Is this old news ?
Could our prayers be answered and Harrington, Sully and Bucky kicked to the curb ? Please God !!!! |

Like homie said change 8 players out. That's a 3rd of the roster.
Bogo
Bowl u
Gorges
Faulk
Moulson
Larson
Nolan
Girgs ?
Chad
Lehner
There 10 easy guys to get rid of
Why change our good players? - Boss34
I back read and I'm assuming this is the post you're referring to.
Bogo - Big contract, servicable defenseman in the right minutes, hard to get rid of, especially if you want to take a year to see how he fits.
Bowl u - We needed NHL depth bodies. Using a flier to acquire him was a smart move that didn't work out. What other defensemen were out there for a compensation this small?
Gorges - Who the (frank) wanted him? He didn't even play half the time.
Faulk - Depth. A non-topic.
Moulson - Boat anchor contract. No one is moving him, and Botts got rid of him the only way he could.
Larson - Again, who wants him? He was actually ok last year. But the only reasonable way to deal with him is bury or trade to someone desperately needing a 4th line center (??????) and sign one off the heap, who probably isn't much better
Nolan - Picked up for free to play an energy role. Unfortunately he had to be overused because our wing depth was/is absolutely pathetic.
Girgs ? - useful, sometimes. Multipositional. And a better option than most of our call ups.
Chad - Just a backup. I guess we could have found a better backup in FA?
Lehner - Botts gave him a one year deal, and had to deal with a predecessor's asset. Trade him for......who? Who wants him? Who wants to do a goalie swap? If I remember correctly, people were mostly positive about him entering the season.

If we're going from
Kane-Eichel-Pominville
Pouliot-ROR-Okposo
Nolan-Reinhart-Griffith
Moulson-Josefson-Girgensons
Larsson
To
?/Olofsson/Nylander-Eichel-Okposo
Erod-ROR-Reinhart
Wilson-Mitts-Baptiste
Bailey-Girgs-Pominville
We're already miles better and we'll definitely be adding in FA or trades imo. That 4th line I suspect will look different/faster - jcragcrumple
Listing 2 guys who aren't likely to start the season in the NHL on the top line is a giant flashing red light. This team needs a ton of help on the wings.

Yeah, LW is an absolute mess right now. There will be additions, I'm pretty sure of that. But if one of those guys develops chemistry with Eichel, it's not impossible. Olofsson should probably go to the A to hone his game. |

Vanek and a good winger. Defense is fine. 2 goalies, 1 being ullmark.
Stantsny is not coming here. Long term deal somewhere else.

Risto
McCabe
Guhle
Dahlin
Nelson
Scandella
Bogo/ bowl u 7/8
?- 15-23
90-37-21
Vanek-erod- wilson
Pommer- girgs - any jerk that can play 10 minutes a game
Larson 13th
Ullmark
Ufa goalie.
So I'm saying
A good winger, vanek and someone step up from rochester and play decent.
And a goalie.
That's not that hard to make happen |

They need to add 2-3 wingers to the mix. There should be a battle for the last couple of spots, versus last year, where they had to use the waiver wire and most of the competition weltered.

I'm really feeling vanek is a slam dunk
20 plus goal guy , consistent, connected to Sabres, pommer and jbotts. |

It's a long list, but it's not a good list. Only 1 guy played well enough last season, at any level, to project as a top 6 next year (not counting Casey as a winger).

Pommer is here probably this year, seeing that he is friends with the gm.
Having both pommer and vanek next year would be a 1 year , stay competitive, have professional hockey players in the line up move.
Keep the kids in Rochester.
Speed or no speed these guys are proven scorers |

Playoff push
High end talent wins in the nhl.
Sabres have high end talent
Yes, Vegas also has high end talent - Boss34
I font think they get out of the bottom 5 personally. I think you are in for a big disappointment next year. Maybe scale back your expectations a bit. |
