Any predictions for Caps/Lightening Game 7? Backstrom to Oshie was just money in the bank last night. If the Caps fly like they did last night, I dont see anyone from Tampa or Vegas beating them... - kindlyrick
That was an awesome game, the caps manhandled Tampa but I wouldn't expect that twice. Great game 7 hope caps win |

Depends which Lightning team shows up. If they play like they did last night the Caps will cruise right into the final. If they play like they did the few games prior, it's going to be a hell of a game. I suspect the latter TBL team shows up. - eichiefs9
Funny. I thought Vegas/Jets would go 7 and Caps/Bolts would be over quick. |

14 mill? JT better improve his leadership and D big time for that price. - ses111
Man do you realize how hard it is to find a point per game player these days?
As long as he scores who cares? |

Think Tampa might have blew their load winning 3 in a row. They looked absolutely spent last night. |

I have to agree that Tampa was not on their game by any means last night......but seeing the Caps last night in 6th gear, Im not even sure the Lightenings best game can stop them. The size, speed and tenacity was unreal. The Caps forwards were so hard on the forecheck, those Tampa dmen couldnt get the pucks out. Girardi got absolutely crushed by Smith-Pelley, who's been a major factor for the Caps. I gotta think the Lightening are gonna have a hard time matching that. |

I gottta admit, im rooting for the Caps. Too many years of Ovechkin not being able to beat Crosby. Its his year. He was an absolute beast last night......EVERY shift. Roenick compared him to Messier. |

2 days off and they're going to be on home ice. I'm willing to bet they bring it for game 7. Not to say the Caps won't, but I don't think we'll see the Bolts shut out again. |

I'd love it, but we'd have to move some serious salary. ROR carries a $7.5M cap hit and Barzal is gonna have a dumptruck full of money backed up to his front door in two more years
I really like the idea of trading for ROR and Lehner if Tavares ultimately decides to walk away. |

What are they going to have to pay Barzal? Is the Cap going up enough to pay JT 14 and still bring in a goalie and dman? |

I have to agree with you, and while i think they're gonna leave it all on the ice for game 7, im just not convinced its going to be enough to combat the size, speed and tenacity of the Caps. They showed last night how Tampa's game plan was to chip and chase to get behind the caps D. Meanwhile Kucherov was shown losing the puck in the neutral zone 4 times, instead of getting it deep. He's gotta be better if they have any shot at beating the Caps. |

Assuming the cap goes up in each of the next two seasons, Barzal could be easily looking at $7M-$8M on his next long-term deal, if not more.
Given the contracts of Draisaitl and Eichel, neither of which has produced as many points as Barzal did in his rookie season, I wouldn't even be surprised to see Barzal go higher than $8M, considering Eichel is making $10M and Draisaitl $8.5M. |

I think the days of lines being scoring lines or defensive lines is somewhat declining. All four lines now should be able to play both sides. Having a kid like Ho Sang on the third line gives the isles numerous scoring line combos. That being said, i dont believe he stays on Lou Lams isles.... - kindlyrick
All good points. don't think he's a Lou L type player. Unless he gets the message right away and changes his ways i don't see him sticking around long. Agreed.

Nice to dream
ROR is probably the best option therefor sure.
Edit: I'm thinking that Lou get's JT signed. |

Yeah, Barzal should get $8+ assuming the cap continues to go up and his production doesn't drop off. |
