That would be me. Told mine to give me a call back when L &M get their S together and fire that fat #$@&. This is the next best thing. I'm wondering if he will bring Hunter with him and make him GM. Then, a new coaching staff. I like the sound of all this. - Mancalledsting

This is exciting stuff. I don’t think we fans are really used to what’s about to happen. Lou Lamoriello is going to make moves...
Please get Trouba - kindlyrick
Don't know why the Jets would want to let him go. |

I have a feeling Garth will still manage the roster but only report to Lou.
Not saying it's a good feeling, but a feeling nonetheless. |

I think you're jumping the gun. Let's see how the front office is structured and if Weight is still the coach. Lou is great news, but the Isles have kicked me in the teeth too many times. - JimmyP
Exactly. If Doug Weight is still employed by the Islanders it speaks volumes. |

To me in order of importance right now, Weight isn’t numero uno. I’d like to see a nice overhaul of this roster first between now and July2nd. I think bringing in Lamoriello gives the isles the best shot at signing JT. After the draft and free agency, I’m pretty confident Lou Lam will bring in his own staff. |

I hope they make Snow Executive Director of Parking Lot Inspections for NVMC. His scope of work: ensure that no parking spaces go missing. He is to stand there all day and dutifully watch an empty parking lot. |

Is it fair to say that Weight had this team winning until D got injured and all fell apart? Now dont take it as me advocating for him, but until better talent is brought in on the backend not really sure what Weight can do?
Trust me, I've been on record many of times for a professional NHL experienced coach but that hasnt happened yet .... |

The best part of this is that Lou actually speaks to the media, we will finally get a look at what Snow has been hiding for almost 15 years. Finally fresh air. |

I rather see Lou bring in a new coach. I know the issues in goal and on d, but Doug had no answers and waiting until is was too late to make any changes. |

I'm still waiting for the official announcement. Think back to the Josh McDaniels fiasco with the Colts. I'm glad Lou is on board (reportedly) though. Once it becomes official I will then announce how, thankfully, I was wrong. |

so if lou met with JT last week before he was hired, wouldn't that be tampering? so the leafs lose lou and draft pick? |

Lots of teams have injured D-men. They make their way through it. That's what coaches do. Yes, there were a lot of injuries to key people, but you have to make adjustments. Play to the strengths of your personnel. Weight doesn't do that. He ended up being almost exactly like Crappy. |

Don't know what the "meeting" was about. Maybe they just chatted about family. Vacations. Cars. Who knows. But I don't think that could be construed as tampering. If Lou was not still a member of the Leafs organization, then he's free to speak to whomever who chooses. Especially if he's was already on the Isles payroll. |

I'll go with the lack of talent, too many plugs on backend, imho ... |

Agreed. Even when you have injuries, you still need to manage your roster. Play to your strengths. Doug didn't do that even when everyone was healthy. It was like Crappy 2.0. He had his system (which looked a lot like Crappy's) and he wasn't going to change for anybody. I like Doug, but he isn't a head coach. Front office material (for another team), yeah. |

Shanny had Mark Hunter. Do you think Hunter did a bad job? He was a huge part of the young talent drafted the last few years. - ShayneCorsi
I'm not familiar with Mark Hunter. I just know all the talent David Conte drafted with the Devils and all the success they had and it's just strange not to allow Lou to bring him to the Leafs. |

And I'm not disagreeing with that. I just don't think Weight should be a coach. We need someone with experience and someone with no ties to the organization. |
