I don't see it that way. I see Baptiste as a bottom 6 guy. If they called up Nylander and put him on the 4th line, I'd have an issue with it. - Lunaion
What kind of production do u need to see from these guys when they’re given 10min a night on a line with guys like Nolan, etc?
U think Pitt stuck Guentzel & Sheary on line4?
Nope, they let them play through their mistakes on the way to Cup wins |

I really wish we still had our 3rd Round pick this year. I wouldn't mind grabbing Adam Mascherin if he Re-Enters the draft, he is exactly the type of prospect we need. Although on the shorter side he is a speedy, high scoring, sniper, LW who is more NHL ready then other prospects and he brings it every game. Unfortunately, I could see a team possibly taking him in the second, most likely the 3rd but I don't see him falling to us in the 4th Round, which is a shame he's exactly what we need. |

I'd have to think JB is at least exploring the possibility of trading for his rights.

Well your opinion of “good” doesn’t mean it’s true to use your words against you
Selling high on O’Reilly doesn’t mean selling him for “what ifs” and “parts”
Sure, Sam & Risto can be sell high candidates...
IF
and apparently u missed where i said this
“Botts identifies them as players who are t part of our future”
Until proven otherwise,
I’m not gonna assume that he wants to ship out Sam, Risto, or ROR
BUT
if he does...
then he needs to maximize value with them too
And yeah...
“Buy low” guys like Pouliot bring nothing to the future of this team
So no thanks
Now if it’s a buy low guy like Vanek,
then fine i guess
But he’s not part of the future here
So get him on a 1 year deal & trade him at the deadline
Also... there’s A LOT of “buy low” deals that i do like
Oglevie, Smith, E Rod, etc
So why don’t u quit being a troll
Since u obviously can’t comprehend what I’m actually saying - jdfitz77
I find it funny that you don't think people can comprehend what you say, just because they don't agree with you.

Hearing the Sharks and Evander Kane have agreed to a long-term contract extension. Numbers may be in the 7-years 7-million per range. - sbroads24

I don't understand why so many people want to trade for Jeff Skinner. He's had some good seasons, but I don't think he is what we need. Now before anyone jumps on me about needing more offense, let's compare some stats:
Games G. A TP +/-
Player 1 579 204 175 379 -96
Player 2 574 186 168 354 -50
Player 1 is 26 y/o, has never played a playoff game, has not missed a lot of time, but has had 3 concussions, and would cost assets to obtain and would likely be looking to get $7m+ on his next contract.
Player 2 is 26 y/o, has just played in the playoffs for the first time, has missed time due to injuries, and is set to make $7m/ 7 years.
Now that are definitely differences in Skinner and Kane's games, but I don't see giving up what I've seen proposed for Skinner. I would rather have O'Reilly at $7.5 than Skinner at $7m. O'Reilly has a better all around game (Skinner is bad defensively.) If it wasn't for off ice issues, I'd rather have Kane than Skinner.
All that being said, if you're trading O'Reilly, you better be asking for someone like Tarasenko. Add a pick or a Baptiste/Bailey if you need, but that would be the type of player you're looking for. Most of the NHL apparently think much higher of ROR than most posters here, but the truth is, he is a valuable asset and any trade involving him will prove that.

I love how he just adds "Alex DeBrincat went one pick after he(Mascherin) did." like it's supposed to mean anything at all. DeBrincat exceeded expectations by a lot, so Mascherin will exceed them even MORE!
I'd give the Panthers a 5th round pick to take a swing at him. I wish they could trade cash again. Give them $10K to talk to the kid, pick him up in Unlce Terry's jet, roll out the Blue and Gold carpet for him, give him a nice tour of the rink and HarborCenter and Canalside, a nice dinner somewhere, and then, when he gets back to the best room in HarborCenter a couple high end escorts to choose from.
BOOM. Signed, sealed, delivered. |

Sabres should target Jett Woo if he falls in the draft. I've seen him as high as 14 and as low as late 2nd early 3rd, but with a name like Jett Woo, what could go wrong? He is a RD with good size. Seems more like a stay at home guy. |

Kane played with Eichel for the last few seasons. Skinner doesn’t have that luxury. His floor with Eichel is 25x25 for 50 imo. Something Kane never did when he was here. |

So Kane resigning:
We now have the latest pick of the 1st round (Sabres, 32nd overall), and one of the earliest picks of the second round (21, sjs)
So do we have 3 picks in the first round this year? |
