And if he is willing to waive and sign here, again why not just wait, it's not like we are going to be a playoff team next year we can handle waiting a year.

I think you have a better chance at extending him to a more reasonable number if you can trade and extend in one swoop VS letting him hit the FA market after next season

Alot of things have to align for it to work. Skinner has been in the rumor mill lately and I happen to really like him and believe he would be an awesome fit here. If you could move the 1st you get from San Jose and a player AND you are able to extend him for 3-5 years without a huge raise then i would be interested.

I'm agreeing with the Skinner trade or signing.
