Does anyone have a link to that? I haven't seen that anywhere. - Mentalorgasm5
Cap Friendly has the info, just click on the Sharks logo in the draft picks on the Sabres page, and it'll take you to the conditions. |

Here’s hoping that kane pick turns into Lafreniere
That be the greatest trade of all time - gerbe75pts
Quinton Byfield Might give him a run for the top pick
6’3, 190lbs scoring machine
Oh, and he’s only 15yrs old |

Rather give Kane 7 mill then Okposo 6.5 or 6 - SABRES 89
This is how I look at it too. I really think Okposo is shot. At least as a Sabre |

I think Okposo has Compliance Buyout written all over him if they are Offered after the Next CBA Negotiations. |

Its more about seeing if he would be interested in signing here first. If you think hes game, I think its worth it to trade an asset like the first from San Jose (likely a player we dont see for 3-5 years) and a player to get exclusive negotiating rights with him. IDK maybe thats alot to give up but yea hes gotta be game |

I dont see anything on it being lottery protected on capfriendly either. |

Also remember Botterill in an interview on radio saying it as well.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed that it isnt. I cant find anywhere saying it is. And a 3 draft wait to use the asset acquired in a trade would be a bummer. |

According to Wilson, the condition on the first-round pick that the Sharks sent to Buffalo hinges on whether Kane re-signs with the team. Assuming Kane signs an extension with the Sharks, the Sabres will receive San Jose’s top pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. If Kane leaves the Sharks as a free agent, the Sabres will get San Jose’s second-round pick instead unless the squad wins the Stanley Cup this season. The pick is lottery protected, so if the Sharks miss the playoffs this spring, it will turn over to next season.

What is written in the article is what I thought as well, a Lottery Protected 1st round pick. I am not sure why Capfriendly only has it as a 2019 1st round pick with no Lottery Protection. |

Why do you (your not the only one & I'm not trying to single you out) want to waste assets trading for a player who will be a UFA next year. Wait till then and sign him without losing anything. And if he is willing to waive and sign here, again why not just wait, it's not like we are going to be a playoff team next year we can handle waiting a year. - Sabrehagan

Botterill told AP 1st round pick to #Sabres in Kane deal is lottery protected. If #Sharks don’t make playoffs next year, then Sharks retain pick and Sabres automatically get Sharks 2020 first round pick.

Pick will be in the 15-23 range next year. I think it makes pick 32 this year expendable. Package that with someone and get a winger for Jack. - Pegullaville
If Ryan Merkley falls, it would be hard to pass him up
Needs work on his defensive game,
but he’s a RH shot with elite offensive skills & skating ability
Definitely has “bust” potential if he doesn’t get his defensive game in order
But could also be worth it |
