I think Mittelstadt has a lock on #3. Really think those two are higher? - Lunaion
I think mitts is probably 3.
Wonder whether scouts would like the more accomplished guys more?
In a 2017 redraft he would probably go 3rd now, maybe 2nd? |

I think they're rebuilding, although I'm really not sure. I haven't read much of their GM's plan. I think they need pieces for the future, which idk if Schenn who will be 27 in August fits.
So I would offer Erod, 2019 SJS first, and Nylander. There's a center and a potential center in the first round, along with a potential replacement for Schenn (Nylander) who fits with their timeline. |

I think they just moved Stastny Because he was going to walk and getting up in age so they got good value for him
I had them being one of the teams for ROR they have way to many good players to start a rebuild imo |

If they wanted ROR for Schenn and pick #29, I'd definitely consider |

I'd probably say 4th, behind the top 2 and Pettersson.
If you offered Casey to Carolina for #2, there's a legit framework for a deal. If you offer RoR, they laugh it off. I think the gap is pretty big.

He was always "off", but ranting about the gubment and throwing a dumbbell at a guy while screaming about his playground. Yeah, that's pretty serious. - Wetbandit1
Screaming about the playground is VERY serious.
If he was commenting on the absolutely ridiculous societal deterioration that leads multiple repeat offenders to just stroll right into the express lane at the grocery store with 8 and - oh the gall - even 10 items ... Well, then I could envision a justifiable response in defense of the self and the social compact. Because after all, we ALL have to go to the store and it’s only right that some of us who are truly small volume shoppers ought to be able to proceed with shorter delay than the more voluminous shopper (who, after all, decided on their own to pick up that 8th, 9th or 10th item that SHOULD [under the clearly posted terms of the express lane] disqualify them from the speedy checkout).
But not over the playground. That’s no big deal. |

Before this year though, Schenn's best season going back to 2010 was 59 points. I don't think they trade a perennial 55-60 point guy who is under contract, for a guy coming off a career year at 26 years old who only has 2 years lefton his deal
I think ROR for Schenn + 29 is pretty balanced |

How are we counting the items though? Do items(magazines, gum, candy...) picked from the register area while in line count?

We're not trading Svechnikov for Mittelstadt.
No way in hell.
They scored at virtually the same rate in the USHL when they both played there in 2016/2017.
Difference is that Svechnikov was 16 turning 17, whereas Mitt was 18 turning 19. |

Few thoughts:
I think Skinner would waive his NMC to get out of Carolina for any team besides maybe Florida Arizona and Ottawa
He would get to play with an elite center here
I would not move ROR for him though. Makes no sense to trade a guy the same age who is going to get close to the same contract ROR has
I’m not worried about his concussions. He’s been healthy 3 years in a row. Plus they have this thing called LTIR now.
Skinner on Eichel’s wing is 35 goals a season from him easily
I really don’t know why they aren’t trying Casey at wing unless the long term plan is to roll 3 lines or to move on from ROR
Skinner would be the first line LWer. They still need a 2nd line LWer with speed
I would sign Vanek to be the third line LWer and to park in front on the PP
Skinner Eichel Reinhart
Casey ROR Okposo
Vanek ERod Pomminville
Bailey Girgensons Baptiste
Wilson
The defense is still tricky. Yes it gets better with Dahlin but there’s still holes
Dahlin Scandella
Guhle Risto
Nelson McCabe
Bogo
I would send 32 and Nylander for Skinner but not much more. His 1 year left scares me. I’m not sure Carolina says yes to that though.
Goalies
Grubauer
Ullmark
How to get Grubauer is tough though. - Stripes77
Depends if we have to outbid teams
But...
if the Caps lose Carlson-
maybe they’d be interested in Bogo at half price, Scandella, McCabe or Beaulieu
if they keep Carlson-
cuts will be needed elsewhere, which means they aren’t re-signing their 4C (Beagle), who plays an important defensive role for them. So maybe Larsson + works?
At the end of the day...
no one is giving up a 1st, so if we had to use our pick #32, it would likely be the best piece anyone would offer
