I’ve been mentioning Burakovsky as a buy low candidate for us the past few blogs. Of course he has to go out and score two goals tonight though.... |

I think Larsson being on the opening night roster might be the most demoralizing thing they could do. Admittedly, it's a very, very minor piece, but it's just so blah - jcragcrumple
I feel that way about a lot of these players but i get the impression that as long as they can add without subtracting, they won't.
I.e one of the lefties will have to go, but it's entirely possible that the bottom 6 is just the same minus the UFA's replaced by Roch guys. |

Has anybody in here ever talked about the best show on TV - "The Americans" ?. Such an underrated, great show. This final season has been AMAZING. Only one more episode left

They also got no bounces either. That doesn't help. |

He’s not as bad as u guys make him out
It’s just that we have Larsson,
+
Girgensons, Nolan, Josefson, criscuolo, Griffith, Pouliot, Moulson, Wilson and even Pommer
So we really have 10 guys that are really best suited as 4th liners at this point
And the REAL problem was that too many of them were regularly playing in the top9 for us this past year
Next year...
if we run out a 4th line (for 10min a night) that looks some thing like
Wilson-Larsson/Girgs-Pommer
then it’s really not so bad

Last year, we started with...
-Pominville RW1
-Girgensons LW2, also played some LW1
-Pouliot LW3, but played some LW2 as well
-Griffith RW3
-Larsson started at 4C, but after like 8games he moved to 3C when they put Sam back at the wing
-Wilson came mid-year, but was mostly LW2
-even Moulson & Criscuolo & Nolan got top9 minutes throughout the season
All those guys are “ok” to a degree...
IF
they’re making up our 4th line instead of populating the top9
That’s the issue with our forwards
Hopefully the lesson has been learned & we at least bring up some kids & give them a real chance |

They had Steve Kournianos on WGR yesterday otherwise known as The Draft Analysis who works for Sporting News. Some tidbits
On Casey Mittelstadt:
“He’s an absolute stud, there is a lot of Patrick Kane in his game. He is an outstanding prospect, when I did my rankings for the draft I had him at #2 behind Nolan Patrick. I think getting him at 8 was an absolute steal (Thanks Botts). “
“He’s gone through so much with the pull up thing, people complaining about his USHL 5v5 production even though he lead the league in points/game, people complained about his Minnesota production even though his team stunk and he was carrying them 2 weeks into the season.”
“Small sample size but he had 5 points in 6 games, the power-play instantly got better. I mean you gotta think about how good this kid’s gonna be when he’s 22 or 23.”
“You have to at least entertain putting him on the top line with Eichel because that could very easily become the league’s best duo. Even with McDavid as good as he is, with Mittelstadt and Eichel together you’re looking at 10 years of being 2 of the best players in the league.”

Steve Kournianos on Dahlin
“McAvoy came in for Boston and put up 25-30 points. I think Dahlin could meet or maybe double that. Especially when you factor in how great the Sabres PP looked when Eichel was healthy and Mittelstadt was with the team.”
On Nylander
“Nylander, you really never havw an idea if he’s happy, he’s sad, he’s engaged. He always has the same look on his face. The thing is he’s so darn talented and some times you can’t make a kid have a killer instinct. That doesn’t mean he’s not gonna develop into a good player.”
Small sample size on each player. Full interview was 20 minutes long though and very good stuff.

Yes, he is bad. He's a rotational 4th line player with previous and potentially current attitude problems. |

It was a great interview. He sold me on Nylander.
Thinks that Middlestadt and Eichel are going to be one of it not the most dominant pairing in the league at some point.

Set in the 80's, cold war Russian spies in America who can easily pass as suburbanites. However, they have American born kids after having their marriage arranged in Russia. So they essentially struggle with either following Russian orders and being American at the same time.
It's pretty decent. I didn't think it was THAT great, but it's pretty good. |
