They could make a nice jump...I want to see the offseason moves before we mke bold predictions.
Generally though, they can't do worse by bringing in the kids to replace the scrubs that have been mentioned here several hundred times.
Having someone from the pipeline successfully filling one of the two open LW spots would be great

- IonSabres

I still feel like we are lacking

Top 6 winger
Bottom 6 winger
1A goalie.

Hopefully bottom 6 winger is in the system

They will not be resigning lehner.

We will be bringing in a really good goalie.
A 1A so to say.

Ror ro Vancouver for thacker demko +
Possibly Pittsburgh goalies desmith or jarry

- Boss34

I don't think they'll bring back Lehner either, but I need to see it unfold. Not qualifying your starting goalie is almost unheard of, but seems like the right move.

I could see them giving up significant assets to bring in a goalie, but it's also easy to see them wanting to go with Ullmark and not pay a significant price for a backup. If they believe in Ullmark as a #1, then that's the best option for the team long term.

I'm certain of nothing here.

And we're not nearly big enough to do the hotel tax that San Diego proposed to build their new stadium. That would've been borne by out of towners and hookers and Johns. Except San Diego has a ton of military personnel, so those hotel rooms would've been used by military families visiting, so maybe that's partly why it failed.

Tax payers that live here would bear the brunt of a new, unnecessary stadium.

- Wetbandit1

The threat really works when there is a genuine possibility that the team will leave if the stadium isn't built, because there is a considerable amount of sales tax and income tax created by the micro-economy that surrounds an NFL stadium. It's true that alot bleeds out the the "tax exemption for cash transactions" but an NFL franchise still brings significant tax benefit to a host city.

I don't disagree, especially in the immediate area. But they already have a stadium. It has a new field, seats, suites and tens of millions of dollars in recent upgrades. The hotel tax is a novel idea, municipal bonds are a pretty good idea too. I'm not sure there's enough of a base for the latter though.

I'm less worried about the Bottom 6 winger, as I too believe one of Bailey or Baptiste fills that or two.
the top 2 LW though are wide wide open, possibly filled either erod or Mitts, which ever one doesn't get the 3C if ROR is still here.

I think those guys are GOOD up and coming.

Obviously the
Graubauer
Hutton

Guys are a thought too.

Someone mentioned Carey price, if there eating some 3 million in salary and he would waive his Ntc to come here. I'd be all over it.

Depends on offseason moves

Trade O'Reilly -

Win 0 faceoffs and go 5-70-7

Keep O'Reilly

As far as UFAs go...
Jonathan Bernier has been fairly solid, and Carter Hutton had a really good season
Idk that either of them are “1A” quality though
They seem more like “1B” guys to me

I’d be ok with either,
but I’d prefer to trade for a young guy like Grubauer
He will definitely be available bc of the Caps salary cap issues, & they signed Samsonov to come over from Russia

There’s other good young goalies out there too, but tough to know who is/isn’t available

Im not an ant-Pegula’s raving lunatic...rather, I am against tax payers footing a overly large portion of a private building in which the team utilizing it is making googles and googles of money each and every year, whilst their base investment is sky-rocketing.
Why do they need government help.
Which I love the term government, because it means me, you and family, friends.

Seems the money could be better pissed away some where else, like food stamps, lol!

- IonSabres

This is why I don't care if we (taxpayers) pay for it. It's not like if we don't pay for it, our taxes go down. They're gonna waste our money on something. This at least sounds fun

That's fair, but a far cry from "really good". We need someone who's capable of playing at least 50 games if they need to.

Yes, usually it's more in the middle, not a 100% agreement depending on context. But mostly agreeing.

Decent point
Also,
we will eventually lose the Bills unless a new stadium gets built

There will be a lot of politic-ing involved
But I’m sure it’ll happen

He’s not as bad as u guys make him out
It’s just that we have Larsson,
+
Girgensons, Nolan, Josefson, criscuolo, Griffith, Pouliot, Moulson, Wilson and even Pommer

So we really have 10 guys that are really best suited as 4th liners at this point
And the REAL problem was that too many of them were regularly playing in the top9 for us this past year

Next year...
if we run out a 4th line (for 10min a night) that looks some thing like
Wilson-Larsson/Girgs-Pommer
then it’s really not so bad

- jdfitz77

This is what you said.

"Larsson isnt as bad as you guys make him out to be."

I'm saying with statistical backing -4 goals in 80 games last year- that he isnt a 4th liner.

He is a 5th liner or ahl/overseas guy.

He is terrible , you defended him and will now be associated with his failures. Well done.

The only actual reason to keep him as far as I can tell is that he's already under contract. It's not a good reason, but it's a reason

but if the team is stale

and say risto or ror is stinking up the joint

you move them before the season is lost and try to salvage the season

like when they were dumb and traded barrasso to the pens for freaking bodger

or when we trade turgeon for lafontaine

- homiedclown

I was never really impressed by him.

Bodger was a solid guy back there and was one of the reasons they were able to move Housley for Hawerchuk.

They were dumb to move Andreychuk for Fuhr but then again they wouldn't have been able to steal Zhitnik from LA.

Given that Ovechkin is the best goal scorer of his generation by a wide margin, I don't think his high goal total relative to Crosby or Malkin is surprising.

And when you go beyond goals, well, it still looks pretty much like one would expect:

Ovechkin Career Playoff PTS: 112 (116 GP)
Crosby Career Playoff PTS: 185 (160 GP)
Malkin Career Playoff PTS: 165 (158 GP)
