I'd rather go

Wilson-O'Regan-Baptiste

Pominville as 13th forward.

Larsson and Pominville arent part of the future. Why waste any more time?

My dude, he had as many even strength points as ROR and Reinhart

To be fair, a bunch of them came in the first 15 games. I'm not saying I'd have him as a spare, but I don't think, barring injuries he's anything more than a 3rd liner at this point.

Id put Pominville in the top 9. I know you like Baptiste there, but I think Pominville is the safer bet to start with. If age catches up with him move baptiste up one

As much as people loved to point out how well some advanced stat measures rated RoR, those same measures have Pommer tied as our 4th best forward last season and Girgs as 7th. He's not a 4th liner on this team, he's a pretty valuable vet.

Probably right. I was also trying to balance experience in there

He may be boring/soft, but he gets the job done for the most part and is above average in his own end.

Touché
I do say that all the time

And while i do like your line better...
idk if the Sabres would stick Pommer in the box & ship out Larsson & Girgs if they have zero trade value

Pommer has earned icetime over a guy who can be sent down like O’Regan
At least to start the season

If Pommer is RW4,
then i think it’s Baptiste who is moved up to RW3

I really liked that Erod-Mittelstadt-Pominville line in those 6 games.

Until we get Pommiville 2.0 and Girgensons 2.0, they'll both continue to play a lot with Jack. ........we really need some good trades this summer!

I think Reinhart is Pominville 2.0

If they don't want to move any core players, I'd make a play for a sniper to play with Jack and an RHD who's above average in his own end. Luckily, the latter is still misjudged in terms of value so it won't cost you nearly as much as the sniper.

Have you liked Reinhart and Eichel together? I'm very luke warm about it. Just hasn't clicked in my book. Sam plays and under-rated two way game though.

Pommer 1.0 had a little sniper in him, really would have mixed nice with Jack. He needs at least 1 strong defensive player with him, for sure.

Not entirely sure if he's available but I'd try for Bjugstad.

Scored 18 goals at 5v5 despite an ATOI of 15 min

Yeah like is as strong word, bolded is why i want him there. If you find a goal scorer to play with Jack, Reinhart can be the defensive guy there.

Hot-ish take, Im still of the opinion that Reinhart can work as a centre. The experiment early in the year failed, but I don't put that on Reinhart entirely. His line was regularly the best in terms of puck possession, they just generated next to nothing with that mostly because his wingers were Girgs and Griffith.

Id like to see what he could do with two competent wingers.

If JB doesn't have a target list of wingers to play with Jack, I'd be shocked. Knowing what we do about him, I'd bet he has one to play next to Dahlin too.

Hoffman
B. Schenn

two division rivals (i know dumb but it still matters unless you wanna TM overpay)

Domi had like 3 non empty net goals

Schenn isn't available, they're still trying to compete and he was very, very good for them

It failed the eye test miserably though, and the numbers are a small sample size.

He doesn’t have the puck carrying skills or speed to be a playmaker down the middle of the ice.

He’s best making passes from agaist the wall or around the net

I'd be a little surprised if he did actually. I think he's got a general list of guys who are a good fit and if one becomes available they're prepared
