Schenn is not, neither is Domi.

two division rivals (i know dumb but it still matters unless you wanna TM overpay)

Domi had like 3 non empty net goals

Schenn isn't available, they're still trying to compete and he was very, very good for them

That's why I like the Hoffman idea. You have to appeal to Melnyk's cheapness.

I think there's a lot of under the radar guys. If Girgs just had better hands, he'd fit very well. Bailey has all the tools, but just can't seem to do it with any consistency. I'm optimistic that he'll find a few to bring in.

It failed the eye test miserably though, and the numbers are a small sample size.

He doesn’t have the puck carrying skills or speed to be a playmaker down the middle of the ice.

He’s best making passes from agaist the wall or around the net

- sbroads24

I agree, that line got heavy O-Zone starts probably to offset that but it wasn't a total loss.

CF% 52.31 CF% Rel 2.95 Rel GF% 4.17 PDO 94 in 7 games. I think if you put Reinhart with a winger who did have the puck carrying skills it might work. Kind of unconventional but I'd give it a shot.

Even if we're not on Hoffman's 10 team no trade list (and I think it's better than 50% chance that we are), This puts us in a rough spot.

You're adding 4,875 mil of dead cap to a team that has entirely way too much dead cap to begin with.

I would love to have him on the team...but I don't see the Yotes dealing him. I mean how long does that team want to remain in hell?

You're trading Bogo's 5+ dead cap for a lesser dead cap with more time left, but Gaborik might get the Hossa itchers disease

Perhaps, they'd do well to avoid adding any bad deals at least for the next year or two.

Agreed. Time to take our medicine and get out from under our bad deals, not double down.

Caps might be interested
They might not be able to afford to re-sign Beagle if they keep Carlson
Also gotta sign Wilson

- jdfitz77

I see a CAPS Jersey in your future.

Why would top 2 team want a guy that isn't good on the 31st place team?

Talk your way out of this one

Serious question, how many people do you need to turn on you before you admit you may be the problem?

I'm ready to eschew the "devil you know" philosophy and go for a "devil you don't" philosophy at this point, instead of retaining Bogo for 2 years, especially if it lands us a good winger

I might be there too but I think the play here would be to just buy him out. He's a double whammy of not good when healthy and never healthy.

I think it's largely just letting this year play out. A couple deals fall off the books. Maybe a few of the others rebound and could be dealt, or buyouts become reasonable.

I really liked that Erod-Mittelstadt-Pominville line in those 6 games.
- Sabresfan-365

Sure
but if we do that this year as well...
then does it put Wilson back at LW2,
and Girgensons at LW1?

We gotta find a way to knock those guys down
If we can’t bring anyone in...
then E Rod is probably our best option at LW1
Unless we have Okposo give it a try

Aight, fair. Maybe I'm being hard on him

Trade-Eichel-Okposo
Erod-ROR-Reinhart
Wilson-Mitts-Baptiste
Bailey-O'Regan-Pominville

Girgensons

- jcragcrumple

I think malone may be in the mix.

Im very confident that they will be adding someone that is at least better than the LW options you just mentioned. May end up keeping Wilson at LW2 which isn't ideal, but you end up with three lines capable of doing something offensively with some sort of consistency. Not perfect, but probably enough to bring the fans back.

Schenn?
If StL trades him, what other Centers do they have?
I can’t see him moving, even if it’s for a center
Still leaves them needing another top6 center
