"Bills are morons for outright releasing Incognito" - TheSabresTaco
FWIW I was one of those people, but simply because I thought releasing him was for the purpose of him signing with another team. Personally, I don't think we should release players who just think they got a raw deal on something they negotiated and agreed to. He obviously has mental issues, that's sad, but still I would have retained him and masked my intentions with the "we're going to be here for Richie" themed presser.
If they released him truly because he's bat poop crazy, then that's a horse of a different pasture. |

We do need a winger for Eichel but I'm not to thrilled to move ROR to get Skinner. - SABRES 89
I'm willing to bet Carolina would add. But the scenario is based off of two teams publicly stating they want wholesale change. |

Cool, us too. I had to take my wife to WDW before our girl is born. We were down in Tampa on the 12th-16th, went to a Tampa game, hit a bunch of breweries.. was a nice time.. cool though. 7eventh Sun brew was really good as well. |

I wonder if anyone would take the Okposo contract? That would be 6 of Skinner's 7 million. |

Many reasons why this would never happen, first and foremost Okposo has a full no trade |

Beane totally avoided any questions regarding him after the draft. Seemed to be a sensitive situation at the time, even. Typically, just releasing an asset is something even a remotely intelligent office shouldn't do. They didn't do it with Bolden. So if you think about it, on top of the crazy poop he said, and they outright released him off the retirement list, the Bills clearly wanted to sever all ties. This latest incident shows precisely why he was released.

10.5 is way too much money for him. Best case scenario, a goalie plays 60 games in a season. He's basically making 12.5 million if you prorate it over 82 games - jcragcrumple

Sabres have 13/23 roster spots filled (signed through next season)
Sabres have 33/50 contracts. You can assume about 8/10 of those will be new contracts for the NHL team (Ullmark, Nelson the other 2). The other two may be current AHL guys. So that's 41 or 42 contracts. Sabres need to sign the following:
Smith, C.J., RFA
O'Regan, Danny, RFA
Malone, Sean, RFA
Griffith, Seth, UFA
Wilcox, Adam, UFA
Kasdorf, Jason, RFA
Fasching, Hudson, RFA
Baptiste, Nicholas, RFA
Bailey, Justin, RFA
Redmond, Zach, UFA
Sabres also need to sign Dahlin. So let's say 43 contracts are already locked up. Sabres right now also have 51/90 reserve contracts. This includes all unsigned prospects that have never signed an ELC. Does not include AHL contracts.
Which means there are around 7 more NHL contracts the team can sign, with 10 guys that need re-signing. So, what happens?
CJ Smith - yes
Danny O'Regan - yes
Sean Malone - yes
Seth Griffith - maybe
Adam Wilcox (or similar) - yes
Jason Kasdorf - no (AHL or release)
Hudson Fasching - maybe
Nick Baptiste - yes
Justin Bailey - yes
Zach Redmond - yes
Redmond was a great piece for Rochester last year, I hope they re-up him. Griffith and Fasching might be the odd men out here. Even releasing those two, you're right on the edge of the contract limit. So, to the three prospects we own looking for a contract.. it appears it's either an AHL deal or back to the draft.
Of course, if you can rid yourself of Karabacek, Beaulieu and Martin, that gives you some flexibility. |

Agreed but not Skinner. Wrong age with our young core and wrong contract (UFA in 1 year). Will likely ask for Kane-like money if he were to waive his no trade clause to come to Buffalo. Would rather use ROR to get us younger, cheaper assets.

I thought I saw that kane signed 7 x7 with San jose?
Did he extend in buffalo? Did we get the (2) 1st rounders?
Some don't admit when they are wrong around here either.
Pretty sure the consensus was ek9 signs a 5/7 year 6/8 million $ deal.
I thought it would be Vancouver, I am wrong. - Boss34
I thought it'd be a 5x7M. Then again, I didn't dig my heels into some dumb argument about it. I just had no idea someone would sign a player like that for 7 years. |
