I was on the "no way he's better than Jordan" train for a long time. I'm not sure I'm completely ready to get off of it, but I'm getting there. If the guy was so short of Jordan in his era, someone would have figured out to eliminate him by now. There is absolutely zero reason that Cleveland team should be in the Eastern Conference Finals let alone one win away from winning it, except for him. I do wonder if Jordan could carry a team like that, though I think I can get there.

It's not that cut and dry.

Jordan was definitely on a better team, but his competition was also better.

Players like Barkley, Stockton, Malone, and Ewing were straight up robbed of Championships because they simply played in the wrong era (i.e Jordan was playing, although San Antonio had a lot to do with that after Jordan retired the 2nd time).

The East in LeBron's era is relatively weak. Teams like Boston and Philadelphia will be very good for a long time, but they're still young. They're not there yet. That being said, Cleveland without LeBron is just as weak.
