alright so i got some ok reception last time, took some of your thoughts and ideas and reworked some trades. i think this is actually a line up for next year that could definitely push for playoff.

https://www.capfriendly.c...ead/137634&post_id=462956

came up with a new idea for a ROR trade that i think is even and helps both teams.
again some signing are high but im counting buffalo tax aka extra mill here and there.

let me know

Hedman played 21 minutes a night in his rookie season

Ekblad played 22 minutes a night

with a hall of fame d man behind our bench, I see no reason to expect Dahlin to get anything less than 22 minutes a night

gloves come off and we finally turn this f@cking corner

- homiedclown

That's what I'm saying.

You finally won the lottery and will have a mega super star stud defenseman.
And eichel + mits

It's on next year. Suffering has ended

I agree with almost all of your posts.

To rely on bogo in any way is a stretch.

- Boss34

It’s not ideal, but if he’s not paired with Risto it will be one of those two players.

the troubling thing

1. botts traded for scandella
2. they say they like mccabe
3. guhle
4. dahlin
5. they still sign pilut after getting dahlin
6. he did trade for beaulieu

mixed signals across the board and they only need 4, 5 at the most and that 5th is a certain press box warmer

- homiedclown

Maybe we keep them all 8 next year. Let Rochester mature slowly. Just having dahlin written in makes the d solid.

Funny how Gerbe and I were mentioning this before we even won the lottery and some of the posters here gave us the gears about moving Scandella if we were to get Dahlin
- Pegullaville

I’ve been on the move scandella tip since (frank)ing February lol ask homie

don't get me started

someone last night suggested keeping skunk on the second line to keep the cost down

right after the discussion that eichel needs a kunitz type player

reinhart got 25 goals at 22 years old, kunitz didn't pop 25 in a season until he was 26

we could have a center/winger combo for the next 12 years with these 2, let them make plays

and if you put casey on the other wing

oh nelly

- homiedclown

I’m over the fact that he’s just not a very good 2nd overall pick. He’s turning into a nice player.

For a while, he was so underwhelming it was hard to not be disappointed

I'm still of the opinion that him and nelson will make for a good 2nd pair with dahlin-risto up top...in that scenario you have McCabe-bogo, who've played well together before, in a third-pairing role...

beaulieu as #7, guhle in Rochester to start the season

I'm hoping that he's on one of those long curves and that we won't see him peek or plateau until his mid-latter 20's

2 at 4.5 per

or 8 at 5.5 per?

- homiedclown

For me shorter term is the right thing for him right now.
Need to keep him hungry until it is habit.
I worry a bit throwing him a long-term deal...does he pull a Stafford?

I think Sam thinks he's a 7m+ player and wants nothing to do with a long term deal that pays him significantly less. I'd be shocked if this didn't end with a bridge deal.

Don’t think it’s unreasonable to think his point totals continue to increase as the Sabres acquire more talent throughout the roster.

Overall it’s cool....would be much more entertaining.
Taking a flyer on Bennett, hopefully a change of scenery does him good.
I’m not a fan of bringing Vanek back, but at 2x2 it’s not bad. Gives the kids a chance to develop in Roch for a bit, so I do get it.
Love the Carlson idea, and I think you do need to overpay to get him here...maybe playing with a Dahlin is the added incentive.

My thoughts as well.
He needs to prove his 2nd half is who he will be going forward...not just expect that is what he deserves.

I think he is what he is, but I am hoping for just a little more of second half Sam than first half. I don’t think he continues the ridiculous pace

That's tough

Probably something similar to what it would take to get ROR out of Buffalo

Scandella 28 yrs old
Beaulieu 25 years old
McCabe 24 years old
Pilut 22 years old
Guhle 20 years old
Dahlin 18 years old

I mean, it's not really a tough decision who has to go here.

- Sabresfan-365

Guhle, obviously.

Honestly, I don't care about age, they're all in their primes or yet to reach them. Beaulieu is the worst of the bunch. And neither Guhle nor Pilut have done anything. Aside from dropping Beaulieu I think anything else as far as getting rid of someone without bringing someone back would be hasty.

In all fairness we haven’t seen Pilut. He could be the worst for all we know

It really is useless except to see who gets the "prize". Most other spices are going to easily overpower it. I couldn't tell you what it tastes like if my life depended on it.

Antipin had very good bonafides and we all know how that worked out. I'm not saying I'm not optimistic for both Pilut and Guhle, but I'd like to see them both being consistently good before I start shipping guys out for help on the wing.

Except Beaulieu, seriously, (frank) that guy.

I also said like 3 times that I wasn't talking about Kunitz himself, just someone that wasn't a big time name that had half a brain and didn't hog the puck. The Pens had been/still are looking for "that winger" for Crosby, they've tried high-end guys in Kessel and Neal and they didn't really work. Neal did a bit, but Kessel was almost immediately put elsewhere.

The point is Jack doesn't need Kessel(the Sabres could definitely still use him though). He just needs someone who's half competent and has a good shot and decent instincts. Don't waste all that energy trying to find the perfect guy. It's unnecessary.

your last paragraph is exactly what I am trying to say

we could have our poor man's bossy, trottier, the stud in our case is on the dot

then put kessel with ror, to open that line up with speed

casey, eichel, reinhart
nylander-ror-kessel
vanek, e-rod, baptiste
wilson, larsson, okposo/pommer/bailey

BOOM
