I think Sam thinks he's a 7m+ player and wants nothing to do with a long term deal that pays him significantly less. I'd be shocked if this didn't end with a bridge deal. - Lunaion
What makes you think that regarding Sam, out of curiosity? |

Id say mccabe is the best of that bunch in terms of value to the team - Sabresfan-365
and he would probably bring us the biggest return in a trade |

Id say Guhle has done enough to earn a 3rd pair role next year. Scandella, McCabe and Beaulieu are the only ones who have more or less hit their ceilings and Id say mccabe is the best of that bunch in terms of value to the team - Sabresfan-365
I think McCabe still has a little more room to develop and grow. |

I think he can become a bit more polished but i see him as a decent 2nd pair option right now. |

Fixing the D should still be the number one priority. Anything that makes it worse is not in our best interest.

I have no idea what else it would take aside from ROR, but if they could somehow get Juolevi and the 7th overall from Vancouver, that would go a long way to helping the organizational depth at defense. I say that not knowing what the current outlook is on Juolevi. |

it's not great. he just hasn't put it together and doesn't really have the upside offensively that people once assumed. |

I don't know his ceiling could still probably be 2nd pair, his D+1 year was a little rough considering he played for london. |

your last paragraph is exactly what I am trying to say
we could have our poor man's bossy, trottier, the stud in our case is on the dot
then put kessel with ror, to open that line up with speed
casey, eichel, reinhart
nylander-ror-kessel
vanek, e-rod, baptiste
wilson, larsson, okposo/pommer/bailey
BOOM - homiedclown
Switch Vanek out and put Bailey in that spot and I’m all for it. |

So what's the Kessel trade?
Girgensons, Nylander and 32?
Or sjs pick involved? |

My best bet would be Girgensons, McCabe, SJS 1st |

it's going to cost so much more than anyone would want to give up, you'd be buying way above his actual worth at 32 years old because he had a career year.
That and we're not even sure he'd accept a trade here. |

Here's mine:
Mcabe and 32 for Daley and Athanasiou.
Maybe add a prospect - nylander, etc |

good catch, but i think that makes it worse. Unless they get a haul, there's really no reason to move him |

Athanasiou doesn't really bring enough to the table to justify moving the best 2nd round pick (which is essentially first overall after a few calculations)
Daley sucks |

Eh, ive always liked Daley. Admittedly, he's on the back-9 of his career.
We'd still have
Scandella-Risto
Dahlin-Nelson
Guhle-Bogo
Daley
Beaulieu
AA helps our top-6 immensely |
