Ristolainen is our best defenseman? Could have fooled me I've seen him too many times get beat so many times

This is a guy that 3 years all the fans said franchise defenseman

Now I'm hearing that he played to many minutes and too many situations for him to fail

Now people are saying he's going to be this number one defenseman with dahlin

Unless you are getting a better young, RHD d-man with the same type of contract, there is no way that you would trade Risto. As many have pointed out, we are woefully thin at RHD. And you make it sound so easy to just throw a leftie over to the right side. Thankfully we have professionals running our team and not armchair quarterbacks who have never run an organization in their life. Here's looking to you Gerbe.

better than Gorges, Bogosian, Falk, Scandella, Beaulieu, and McCabe 100%.

Ristolainen, Dahlin, Hanafin, Scandella McCabe and Ghule sounds 10x better

Ryan O'Reilly, Alex Nylander and the Sharks 2019 1st round pick is more than enough to get Hanafin and some other piece (Teuvo Teravainen? just the first name i thought of). Staal and ROR would be what i am selling Carolina that way Carolina can let the young guns develop

Gus sucks I’m absolutely done with him if he’s on the 4th line fine but you can upgrade on the 3rd line

Stop moving Ristolainen ? God people overrate this dude so much tell me what is he ? Franchise defenseman Or first paring defenseman Or just needs to be on the second pair to be good ?

I’ve Heard it all ..

Really no one has explained to me how this team is suddenly going to be so good without moving one of ROR or Sam or Ristolainen

Please I’m waiting

- gerbe75pts

Vanek-Mittelstadt-Okposo
Smith-Malone-Pominville.

For Gerbe
Reasons we will be better this year:

Goaltending
-no matter who we bring in to pair with Ullmark, it will most likely be MUCH better than the horrible play from Lehner & Johnson last year

That is true but Ullmark could be a total fail next year they have to get someone like Bernier or someone other from free agency

Bounce back seasons
-hard to imagine Reinhart & Okposo having terrible 1st half’s again. Sam seems to have gotten his sh!t together, and Okposo is healthy again

Both are slow and the game is moving at a faster Pace now I don't think you can keep both of them to be successful we saw how fast the games were last year and that's what we have to translate into

Other forward depth
-guys like Bailey, Baptiste, and other kids at least have the speed to play like we want- along with potential to score more goals than a bunch of the sh!tty forwards we played last year
*i don’t need to list them, do i?

I don't believe in those listed above we've heard this three straight years that these two are going to make the noise and make the team

MAJOR additions
-Dahlin & Mittelstadt should have a nice effect on the defense & offense

That's a pulse right there and that = bottom 5 which it is an improvement from the worst in the league

Defense additions
-besides Dahlin, Guhle & Nelson for the whole year should help. Not only in our own end, but getting the puck up ice to the forwards as well

There ya go Gerbes...
FIVE realistic reason we will improve
How much?
To be determined...

- jdfitz77

I like you fitz but your answers just confirmed what I've been preaching about I don't think will be the worst team in the league but will be in the bottom five

You can trade Sam + for hanafin and then trade ROR for wingers

Which is basically what I've been saying you have to trade one of the three to be successful

I'm a fan of Hanafin he's the real deal and lost his golden shine with all the other defensive players on the blue line

Fun fact: Tim Tebow kneeled during the national anthem during an entire season to protest abortion and said he couldn't stand for a flag that allows such a thing.

Everyone supported him.

But you guys have been preaching for years that this dude is a franchise defenseman is he ? Now it seems some of have finally realized he's not and he's okay on the second pairing

Just like Ennis was our best player the tank year

This will be the same situation once you add more Talent he's going to move down the depth chart and you guys are going to finally realized he's not the player you once all thought he was

Turn pick 32 to SJS 1st. Upgrade Baptiste to Nylander. We have the pieces to get this done. Doesn’t have to be Kessel, can be any scoring winger. But I envision one of Bailey or Baptiste being moved in a trade. I’d imagine at least one of Larsson and Girgensons are gone. Nylander could even be gone. We need to make a move this offseason. Unless we sign Neal/JVR which I don’t see happening.

Cheers to them

Idk how accurate it was, but Fury sure showed what the guys in the shermans were up against with the German tanks and artillery

- jcragcrumple

Really the only way we could defeat their tanks was to swarm them. Quality is great and everything, but overwhelming quantity and tactics often carries the day.

Hell, that was the Soviets main strategy for 90 years until the end of the Cold War. WWI was just keep throwing men into the meat grinder. WWII was vastly inferior tanks with a novel design whose German guns couldn't penetrate from the front, and make thousands upon thousands of the things, and throw men into the meat grinder, a pretty large percentage without weapons even. They were given a handful of bullets and told to pick up a weapon off a fallen comrade. And a would be attack into Germany during the Cold War. We had superior men, equipment and tactics, but the Soviets had a massive numbers advantage.

My Father was a Tail Gunner in the Army Air Corps in the European Theatre, His unit were decoys for the D-Day Invasion, drawing German attention away from Normandy.
- macman9

Even after the invasion the Germans thought Normandy was the diversion, not Patton in England, so they held most of their reserves in place in Calais waiting for an attack the never came. Very likely won the war for us.

The German panzer and tiger tanks were definitely superior to the Sherman

NVM, you were talking about the Soviets

Both, our Shermans could only win by swarming the Panzers and Tigers and later the King Tiger, thankfully they only made a handful of the King Tiger.

Men, whole tank crews sacrificed themselves so that their buddies could kill the German tanks. They knew the Germans would take out a fair few of theirs before we got theirs. Pretty sobering stuff.

When he was losing his mind about the potential of drafting Allen calling him a bust I said he reminds me of Wentz and could be the second best QB in this class... Fast forward after the draft and he loves Allen. As documented on this site I’m a Broncos fan so I had no bias. I’m sure after free agency he will be singing a different tune as well haha

I think this is a very high possibility. The tanking is over, it’s time to win. Now is the time to make a move for a winger.
